Question Check engine light turned on....

so last night i was driving around a little bit and my check engine light came on. i figured it was to do with something in my exhaust(borla catback or borla long tube off road headers). im guessing its the borla headers because i just put them on and there are no cats. this isnt a problem that the chevy garage can fix, other than reseting the code that blew, right? i probably have to take it to a tuner?

If you remove the cats and don't "tune them out", you will get errors and the car my run poorly. I would seek out a tuner before your dealership.

There is also the option of getting a simulator to replace the post cat O2 sensor with. I know they have them for the 4th gen Camaros, not sure if someone has one that will work for the 5th gens.

Those are illegal to manufacture, better off just tuning them out.

this implies that the act of removing the cats alone isnt illegal.

Get it tuned, that way you'll get the most power out of those LT's too! And yeah you can't take that to the dealer or bye bye warranty!

My Check engine light came on today also. Nothing new on car.
Gas cap on tight.
Just came on out of the blue.
Car is a 02 FL. state patrol B4C, car w/57,500 miles.
Really make me wonder.
I had the same problem with my 2000 Colo. state car w/118 miles, and one day just went off??
Thanks fellows and gals

You probably want to start a new thread in the LS1 section or General F-Body section. This thread is referring to 2010 Camaros.
