adding high octane(110)
I got a gas can full of 110 octane fuel. i was going to throw some in the camaro with my 93 octane. i have 5 gallons of it but dont think i want to put all 5 gallons in it the firat time. what is a safe mix amount to put in? im going to a dyno day saturday, and i wanted to see if/what kind of numbers i can pick up from upping the octane level.

power pull. this is the same company that tuned my car when having the cam installed. i wanted to add some higher octane to kinda debunk whether or not adding higher octane can get you higher hp numbers. and if it does get higher hp, how much more on how many gallons . i was going to do 3 pulls without adding it and then add it and do 3 more, but i dont want to drive around town with 5 gallons of 110 in my trunk.

Are they going to retune with the higher octane, if not you shouldn't make any more HP unless you are getting detonation of some kind.
Higher octane allows you to pull more timing before getting detonation etc, so if they are just doing dyno pulls it shouldn't matter, if they are going to dyno tune the car with the higher octane... With out a doubt it will pull bigger numbers.

To sum up.... Higher octane fuel :may: give more HP
It can only do so if you have a problem - "knock retard" - that the high octane fuel will solve. Otherwise, it's useless, and a waste of $
:edit: ^^Sharpe beat me to it^^

im sure he meant add, not pull. higher octane is a resistance to burning under compression. It will ADD no hp, as stated. Manufacturers recommend fuel octane by how the vehicle was tuned, to control detonation, hence why high perf. cars usually say 93 only, and not 87. Try putting 87 in a stock z06 or something and see what happens.
