Z28 Fans!
Here are some memorable quotes regarding Z/28 from this weekend....
When asked about a possible Z/28, Cheryl Pilcher said that our market environment has recently changed, but to "stay tuned" and from a Camaro performance perspective, "the Z/28 is very special".
When asked why the rear fender vents were fake on the Camaro, Tom Peters explained the complexities of making them functional, but then added - "maybe on a Z/28 we could make them functional for brake cooling like the Z06".

I love it on the whole. I could do without the hood (although, I'd like a more styled one instead of the regular hood) but I like pretty much everything else. I'm fighting with some ricer-reservations but it looks pretty aggressive.
Here is some front views I just finished:

Little things to explain on this shot:
The front shot reveals some extra things I have in mind for my concept,
-the two recessed trapazoid vents in the lower grille are intended to be functional brake cooling vents
-the lower grill is styled like the upper grille and could feed a heat exchanger for the LSA's supercharger (like on the Cobras/Gt500s
-the hood has 2 recessed vents that run parallel with the cowl (think old SS style chevy hoods)
-The wheels are of volk design. They are forged and gunmetal in color
-The front splitter is carbon fiber and styled after the ZR1's
-The upper grille is a refined IVER style grille, with stock standard bowtie, and my version of the new z28 badge in the same location as all other designations (SS, RS)
-HID Halos are intended to be standard
-The hood is taller to give more than enough clearance for the LSA.

I highly recommend everybody copy the URL and paste it to a browser window. The board shrinks down the picture a LOT and messes up the details.
OK, remember the C5 Z06 rear brake ducts that were added onto the lower body side panel and didn't alter any major body panels? There is a similar body panel on the Camaro that runs below the door and shark gills that is BEGGING for a brake cooling duct.
I would like to see the 5th Gen with a few changes, but I could only illustrate what I'm thinking by using MS Paint and not very well. I've tried, but I won't show them
How about a plain Jane version of the Camaro? Like if the LNF version does come to market? I'm talking a flat hood, no fog lights, smooth out the front end to where there the chin spoiler is not integrated, so the spoiler can be an option or left off, use a more modern mesh grille like the Impala SS or the Aveo5, and split the lower grille area to fit a license plate. Basically like a 1st Gen with no bumper.

It could use 17" wheels instead of 18-20s, maybe in a split 10 spoke design since similar wheels are used on every other Chevy car. And the wide fender flares could be brought in to smooth out the sides. Since that would require new body panel stampings, just take out the gills like the 67-68.
I know this is the exact opposite of 99% of the enthusiasts here want, but I think it would look good. Less gaudy and more tasteful.

Jinx,
Awesome!!
I like how you changed it just a bit but still kept it understated. The lower grill looks great and if GM doesn't offer something like that, then I hope the aftermarket will.
The trapezoidal foglamps fit the design perfectly. And I love the lower splitter.
The only thing I have reservations about is the aero kit under the door and how it mimics the waist line farther up the door. Looks to be a bit of overkill. Maybe if that aero kit was smooth.
But great work. GM, are you looking & listening??

Plain Janes are cool though. But mainly because you can do a lot with them and not feel bad about cutting up an original RS or SS. However, I've done a lot to make my Plain Jane not appear so... plain.

However, I'm not big on creating a modern day version of the Plain Jane V8 Camaro. To be brutally honest, IMHO, that is precisely what the V6 LS is for. Heck, its a stripper Camaro with 300 hp. What more could you ask for?
