What year is your 4th gen? They definitely weren't available in 1995, and for some reason I don't think they became available until the 1997 MY.

Whew! For a second there I thought you were defending mullets. (FWIW, had they been available in 1995, I would have ordered them myself. )

LOL I've been saying I can't wait to see some GFX on the 5th Gen.

IMO the 4th Gens were very blah without the GFX. They just looked like an oval without them... The GFX gave the 4th gens a much needed agressive look.

Yep, I had the Sport Appearance Package on my 2002.

I think it was 1996 when they came out with the GFX. I hope they don't take 3 or 4 years to get them for the 5th Gen. I'll definitely get something aftermarket if they do.

Yuk.
Yep. They kind of went out of style in the 1980's... along with mullet hair and t-tops.
Different strokes..
They're great for keeping your car on the ground around a buck-50 tho...

Yep, I still have the Camaro book from 1996 and there was definitely a GFX option during that year.

As usual, I'm in the minority. The RECENT history is that the Z28 is the "entry" V8 and the SS is the higher performer. I know this isn't necessarily consistent with the earlier Camaro years, but it was the case for the last gen.

Again, I'm in the minority, but I want the Z28 to be an AFFORDABLE, good performing V8 car. Even with one of the non-LS engines GM has, the Camaro will outperform the Mustang GT based on current levels of performance. If GM wants to make a higher performing Camaro, fine, but maybe call it a SS or something else and they can charge what they want.

Your "name" says it all. Z/28 started as a race car disguised as a street car. Many of us want Z/28 to return to those roots by copying the Z06 formula. Race cars are not "AFFORDABLE".

You're right, it wasn't.

Long ago I had a '70 Camaro, it was an SS350. Talk about entry level. It had a speedo, fuel gauge and all other functions were monitored by idiot lights. It had 4 hubcaps on it's steel 14" wheels.

It was cool, but like I said, very entry level.

I don't care as long as it stays under 3800lbs and has an LSX making north of 400hp for under 40k.

Hmmm... I never thought of the Z/28 as the top dog, it always seemed to me that the Z was the road racer, while the SS cars were muscle cars.

I guess that all changed some where in the later 2nd gen years and all the through the 3rd gen years and beyond.
