I hear ya about the 'brick look'... and without t-tops, I'm even less interested. I'm not a baby-boomer trying to relive his glory days (those days were over before I was born), and the 5th gen concept doesnt quite do it for me. I'll likely stick with my 'door-stop' nosed 4th gen.

If market research indicates that the new Camaro will do well, I think GM should go ahead and do it. Then, several years later, when the retro craze has died down, and the Camaro is redesigned into a sleeker, more versatile package, I may have to buy one (6th gen?)... specifically a loaded metallic blue Z28 with t-tops.

I love my 4th gen and given what work I'm about to put into and the fact that my nephew loves the car because it first belonged to his dad, there is no way I'd get rid of my 4th.I'm just going to save up my money and buy me a 5th gen.

Hell no . Im building my 4th gen Z right now from the gound up . For me , since Im doing everything my way and Im building everything myself , it will be perfection and a car I will have forever ....and more a street/strip car with a little more empahasis on strip The new Camaro will replace my Cobalt SS as a daily driver in the spring/summer/fall months .

I have a 3rd gen 1991 Z28 that i will never sell, it would kill me to see some idiot drive it into the ground or street pole.
I would buy the new Camaro and keep them both....then when i win the lottery I will buy more Z28's and build a big building to house my new babies

Re: will you give up your 4th gen for the concept?

How did I know "I'll have both" would be the most popular answer here.

In reality I bet most that don't have a major attachment to their current car (like it was your dead father's baby when he owned it something) will sell off or trade in their 4thgen for monetary reasons.

I would personally like to keep my 94 (or whatever Camaro I have at the time, wouldn't mind upgrading to a LS1 before 09), not because I'm so crazy in love with the T-tops or something similarly ridiculous, but because I'd like to have a second car for backup and to play around with more than my brand spankin' new ride. One of the annoyances I run into alot now is I can't do a cam swap or whatever to my car because I have to drive it to work or school all damn year round. I can't have the downtime and potential problems with my main ride. To have a second car, especially a second Camaro to drive opens up options. If I can't afford to get the new one without selling then so be it. Course most of these rides will be worth peanuts in 09, but they'll still bring enough to be a decent downpayment on a new car...

If they build a Z28 with a 427 for under 40k then I might consider letting my Z go. Once my truck is paid off I "may" be able to afford to get one and keep the Z to.

I'll be keepinng all three. And one day it will be all five.

Now I need to find some acreage to build a nice garage on to house them all.

If I had an LS1 Z28 or SS, possibly. But I have an LS1 WS6, so no.

Re: will you give up your 4th gen for the concept?

I have a feeling that my Z28 will be around for a long time...Unless of course someone offers me enough money for it I voted that I'll have to see/drive the new Camaro before I decide, but I have a feeling that the next car I buy will be a much greater jump in performance than the new Camaro will probably offer....Hopefully a low miles C5 Z06 or C6 or if I'm rich by then a C6 Z06...

Of course not. Would you give up at first born child after a couple years you supported, cared for, raised and invested in? No.....not usually.

Re: will you give up your 4th gen for the concept?

Both my 98 and 69 have to be sold for downpayment on a house regaurdless. my 98 3800 has 245000 miles on it leaks transmission fluid. Its got FlowMaster American thunder dual exhaust though I think somethings wrong with the cat. I dont even know what its worth

My 69 is numbers match engine 350 2bbl 3spd auto with 85000mi Prob not orig. I paid 8G for. The pass floor board and trunk are rusted and it really needs someone to restore it. Was one of those deals where I wanted one badly but couldnt afford the 15G Car that needs nothing.

plan is hopefully sell both get a house and buy the 5th gen(if its like the concept) as long as Im not being unrealistic.

Keeping both, can't hardly find last year IROC's anymore. Plus, I have 2 young boys who would smother me in my sleep if I did...
(edit: oops, 3rd gens count?...)
