Why they wont (get on it) in the 5th gen
Re: Why they wont (get on it) in the 5th gen
Considering this statement-
"First impression: The driver seat is way too high off the floor. A show-car compromise, Peters tells us."
Does this mean the seat will be lowered some, which in turn will create more headroom?
The prospect of the roof being raised concerns me. I'm hoping they find ways to maximize headroom without sacrificing the appearance...
EDIT- Now that I've finished the article I just thought I'd add this-
"Walking out with Peters, we ask the question he's fielded a thousand times since the Camaro concept's January introduction in Detroit: "So, are you going to build it?" Peters answers in kind, "If you were Bob Lutz or Rick Wagoner, what would you do? I mean, come on. After the reception this car has gotten…you answer that question for yourself.""
That's the closest thing I've read to date to a confirmation... Not quite official, but enough to bring a smile to everyones face I'd assume.

Um...
Read the "On the Throttle Section"
It says
"the all-aluminum 400-horsepower LS-2 V8 (lifted from a Corvette) pulls strongly."
Then below that it says:
"the 5.7-liter V8 provided far more power than we ventured to tap"
...um last time i checked, the LS2 was still a 6.0-liter.... that makes me really trust these people's information.
This is why you dont trust the media, nobody knows what the hell they're talking about, Only time will tell if they are making it or not, or what engines, trannys, and options will go in it. END OF STORY

Neither engine will be in the Camaro you'd be buying anyway.

The engines don’t officially have names yet, seeing how they haven’t been released to the public yet.
Re: Why they wont (get on it) in the 5th gen
240 HP 3.9L V6 (LZ8) base
300 HP 5.3L V8 (LH6) RS
400 HP 6.0L V8 (LS2) Z28
430 HP 6.2L V8 (LS3) SS
according to GM High Tech performance magazine...the numbers are unconfirmed but they are a good base.
