whats up with the front page of yahoo?

Slated to bow in the first quarter of 2009 as an early 2010 model, it's expected that the Camaro will be offered in three trim levels — LS, LT and SS. The base LS may be powered by Chevy's 3.5-liter pushrod V-6 making about 220 bhp. The LT models would use the overhead-cam direct-injected 3.6-liter V-6 developing upward of 300 bhp, while the SS will be powered by a 6.2-liter LS3 V-8 (similar to that found in the Corvette) tuned to produce around 400–405 bhp. A year after launch, Chevy will introduce a convertible version and after that a high-performance *****Z28 model with a super-charged 6.2-liter***** sibling to the Corvette ZR1's LS9 motor known as the LSA. That engine would make somewhere in the neighborhood of 480–500 bhp and is similar to the engine used in the upcoming Cadillac CTS-V.

Damn that looks good... Rear is still a bit chunky, not that that ever stopped me before...

I might need to start saving up, now if only the interior didn't look like Hannah Hoch designed it...

Sexy looking. Still not a fan of the rear, but the side profile is hot.

So no V8 under 35k-ish? That, even for GM would be Retarded...

The article is from the latest Road & Track and like so much with this car mostly speculation. We are lucky enough to have some better insight for the car on this site than Car & Driver, Road & Track, and Motor Trend could ever hope to have.
That being said the consensus seems to be that the Camaro will follow Mustang pricing or maybe slightly above.
I think R&T got their model lienup confused with trim options. Trim being Chevy's standard LT and LS etc. Model being RS, SS and Z28.
They are also most likely wrong on the V6 being 3.5L as that engine is due to be phased out. The 3.6L DOHC and potentially direct injection used in the current CTS is probably the only V6 choice. There are also spy pics to support this.
The SS with the LS3 seems like a logical bet along with the Z28 with the LSA although that is probably a lower percentage.
They used spy pics from the Camaro going into the Nurburging for testing. As a test mule it didn't have the "SS" markings they added to the grille. Those are also not the production headlights and there won't be amber taillights in the US. That car did come with Brembo brakes and 20" wheels. Most likely SS or Z28 testing.

Sounds pretty darn accurate if you as me. Except for perhaps the pricing. And I believe the convertible is slated for around December '09?

BTW, I'm guessing the Z28 won't be out until the fall of 2010 as a 2011 model. FWIW.

Article said Z28, not Z/28

How's that for splitting hairs
