Production to start mid February 2009 and the MY 2010 should run 17 months until mid July 2010. Does anyone know the maximim production capacity at the plant?

GM hasnt gotten into the specifics officially, but it wont be anything like what Dodge is doing with the Challenger.

Simply put, demand will dictate how many they end up buidling.

This year, they're only building 5000 Challengers. That's it. Not sure if it's going to be limited numbers after that, like 30-40k, or full-scale, like 100,000 cpy...

But I think Mr. Lutz, and Scott(maybe) has said that in order to have a buisness case for the car they need to sell at least 100,000 cpy. Actually, I wonder how that could change with the more cars they build on Zeta...

Dodge is only building 5000 Challenger SRT8s. Thats the $40000 top of the line 425hp 6.1 hemi. They are also building V6s and 5.7 hemi R/Ts in greater numbers.
I just wondered if there is demand for 150,000 Camaros in those 17 months, could production meet the demand.

Actually, Dodge is only building 5,000 (though as of today they're saying "less than 10,000") SRT8s for the 2008 model year, which will last from about March to July of 2008. In July, they changeover to 2009 models, at which point the 3.5 V6 and 5.7 Hemi variants become available and those and the SRT will be built to demand. They currently estimate demand at 35,000 units for MY2009, but given where Chrysler is at right now I'm quite sure they'd be thrilled to have to build more.

Yea, I see where only SRT8s will be built in 2008 model year. Lets hope all the azzholes willing to pay over sticker will get one and leave 2009 production to the other people. It will probably be the same thing as the early Prowler, Thunderbird, PT Cruiser, SRT10 Viper, SSR and Soltice. First year production gets the market adjustment and second year you can find discounts off MSRP. A Texas dealer locked someone in for a Challenger SRT8 on ebay for $18995 OVER MSRP. It was item # 110201856156

Production will have no problem meeting demand, unless 300,000 people want one. It is the only car in the plant for the first year.

Dude, sixty grand for a V8 Dodge that will be widely available for two-thirds of that or less four months after he takes delivery. Crazy.

With the models Chrysler is cutting, i really wonder how long the Challenger will be around. Or the Viper. Or Chrylser itself.

Things are looking a lot better for Chrysler than they were a year ago.

The capacity at Oshawa is quite large . I don't think we'll "run out" of Camaros!!
