Awesome-will buy one... used

*I feel the cost of ownership will be too high on a brand new one and I don't want a V-6.

I absolutely love it. I don't love it 100%, but in order for me to like a car 100% would require a lot of money.

I've been lukewarm about the whole thing the past year. I thought, I'll see how it turns out, then maybe I'll think about saving enough dough to buy one.

But I've defintiely made up my mind. GM and the Camaro team put ALOT of effort into this. I'm liking this car alot. Once the money's there, I'm buying one. I absolutely hate the gauges on the console (they might as well be in the trunk), but almost everything else is dead on.

I'm actually afraid to test drive the 6 cyl. I'm really afraid I'll like it alot. I *think* the hp/weight ratio is good enough for me. If they tune the sound halfway decent, I might consider it.

Overall, I'm happy enough to want buy one.

I really like it, but justifying shelling out the coin for a SS will be difficult. I'm going to need to see/test drive the SS and really be wowed to drop the money. Price will also be a factor, if it's over $30k for a decently equipped SS I don't think I'll be getting one. Pretty decent chance it will be over $30k...

I just keep looking at the Camaro, and then a used C5 Z06. Really totally different cars not generally cross shopped but for me they are direct competitors. I want a Camaro but I just can't see where I wouldn't be nuts to buy it over a cheaper, faster/better C5 Z06... Now that the Camaros won't have a HUD for the first 6 months to a year that is just one more strike against them.

I think they did a good job on the 5th gen considering what they had to work with. I would like to see the final specs.

That said, I just can't see getting rid of the Formula for one though. I would either get a V6 RS as a daily after the second model year or maybe jump to Corvette.

Like it alot! As long as the test drive is pleasant, and I can get HUD, I will buy a SS/RS 6m, when it comes out. But after driving the old mans Z51 today, I am reaffirmed on HUD being a necessity for me.

I love it! I would order one as soon as I could if I was back in the states but unfortunately I have to wait until 2011 to buy one. Hopefully by that time a Z28 model will be out. If not I'm getting a black ss/rs M6. Only things I don't like about the car is the radio and ac controls. I think it would look a lot better with a full color nav screen in there but I can live with that.

maybe I'm being a bit...whatever...but isn't this a Camaro forum? Haven't we all been watching it since the concept rolled out in '06? I don't get how there can be people here who look at the production and go "hmm, not what I was expecting, but maybe." Are you serious? With all the spy shots and such and the attempt to keep it as close to concept as possible there are still some here who are taken by surprise? I'm also taken by surprise at the people who are looking at the competition. What are you doing here at the enthusiast page?

Maybe its several things at once like the guys who create accounts after the unveiling only to say they don't want/like it. Well the fact you've never been here kinda tells us that.

Personally I can't wait. I'll have to though, either til end of first production year or beginning of next. Budgeting issues. But that aside, I am so happy with the way it turned out. I guess that's what got me off on this rant. I thought that's what we're all about here. And seeing that there are those among us who have been here throughout this entire process with us are now like "meh" about the whole thing makes me all...

I voted "pretty good - will have to check it out" - I'm intrigued to say the least. I'm sold on the looks of the car from the front to the sides although I'm not sold on the stern. I suppose the ADM madness will keep me from rushing down there and listening to a smug salesman telling me the F5 is a deal at any price so long as its not below 20k over MSRP, but a bit down the road I'll definetly give it a test drive.

"hmm, not what I was expecting, but maybe"

Overall, it's a great looking car.

However, I'm a bit put off by the initial specs of the car. It seems I'd be better off getting something like a 2005-2006 GTO (lighter, just as fast and seats 4 comfortably, etc.).

I really want to buy one, but I will wait to test drive one before deciding.

My financial situation will probably not support buying a new car when it comes out... which is fine, because I'm waiting for HUD.
