Any truth to this? - I found this phot of the new "rumblebee" car that used to be a VW in the original show, but is being changed to a Camaro in the movie. Anyways, I haev read that Saleen is doing the movie car - check out the license plate.

Long before those pictures were released on to the internet, a member he said he saw a yellowish 5th gen with black stripes roll into the saleen plant. No one believed him. Then the doubters apologized.

 

As far as we know there are 2 5th Gen yellow movie cars rolling around (Scott let us know in a previous post) and they clearly show Saleen as part of them. There are many pics floating on this site and they both started out as GTO's. The wheels are covers with look-a-like covers for the movies. There is a video here as well of the yellow one on the streets of LA(?) with some military vehicles. Do a search and you will see more.

 

As far as I know, it was Saleen that converted the GTO's to look like the concept Camaro for Bumblebee in the Transformers movie.

 

Its a camaro on a GTO body...its been said plenty of times by Scott.

 

the only problem i have with these cars is that the fake brakes on the wheel covers have no calipers.. i hope that's not too obvious in the movie

 

I'm sure we won't see this inthe movie. CGI is pretty good and they are definitely spending the $. Can't wait to see this car more in action.

 

you know i cant belive its a gto. im not saying its not im just shocked.

well im just shocked at looking at you would never know it was a gto. i mean isnt the roof line much diffrent on the gto

 

even if it is, they would have cut the roof off, and grafted an apporiately proportioned one on
