IMO, it means your dealer is a putz. Tell them to forward you the email; they should have no problem with that since it pertains to your vehicle...

They didn't even have consensus yet.

Bump.

Why do people (including Chris, Jason, and Cheryl Pilcher, on the most recent podcast) keep calling this a 30-day delay? (Nobody in this thread has done it, but still)

There are 28 days between February 16, 2009 and March 16, 2009.

i thought about that but i didnt say anything. kinda weird. they must assume that 30 days is the standard number for a month.

Maybe because most folks average out a month to "30" days...? It's a figure of speach, not a result of counting off days with a calendar handy.

I believe JakeRobb was being sarcastic.

Fair enough, but I don't need a calendar to figure that out. The number of days between a given day of one month and the same day of the next month is always the same as the number of days in the beginning month.

Debateable.

The dealer actually buys the car from the manufacturer.

Dealer then sells the car to the public with a margin for himself.

Manufacturer has a suggested price, but the dealer can sell it for anything they want to with next to no control by the manufacturer.

So, although we are considered customers, dircetly, though, one can accuarately and correctly say the true customers of the manufacturer are the dealers.

Having an actual vehicle at each dealer gives much more exposure 24/7 than we would give driving ours around. It's just the plain and simple truth. That being said, it makes no sense at all that our pre-orders wouldn't immediately be the next thing in line to be built. They don't want to alienate the 10,000+ customers already in line. Putting a round of V6s out doesn't alienate me. Not putting ours out next definitely would.

You're never going to convince them they're wrong; they're approaching it like consignment (which it isn't). Ask them for the bill of sale from Chevy when they pick up their car. It's the same as trying to have an intelligent conversation on floorplan. Everyone wants the "holdback" money added in when figuring profit when it's that money that is used to finance the floorplan. Most people don't care about the realities of the situation.
