Exclamation Thinking of paying OVER MSRP? Be warned!

Brokers are calling dealerships now, offering $3000+ over sticker for "lot cars".....WITHOUT the card....Meaning, they buy it and resell it as "USED" to another dealer.

If you are a lurker, and are planning to pay more than MSRP, ask if the car has a full warranty, or when the warranty started. Chances are the clock is already ticking!

Yes, this buy number is rising, so expect more horror stories from buyers who's cars all of a sudden become "unavailable".

Sad, but as long as people are willing to pay to be the first, someone will be there to get them what they want.

Especially since we we'll be going to a turn and earn allocation system -

We are seeing some cars popping up on competitors lots in a move I am guessing is to increase foot traffic. GM dealers say they get at least 50 people per day stopping by to get a glimpse at one of these cars. I think this stuff will die off by the end of the year but only time will tell. I just laugh at these Ebay guys who claim this is a rare or limited edition car.

That just happened to somebody I know. She ordered a 2LT and was told it would be retail. When it came in the dealer said he could get $3000 over sticker for it in Florida and that she had to pay it. She ended up going to another dealer and ordering another one. What total BS.

It just pisses me off that GM makes a great car, and all the dealers are burning off the good will just to make a buck. She sold a Toyota to get her Camaro too, so instead of getting a GM convert, now she will probably never buy another one after her Camaro.

Good heads up. I agree with alot of what you guys are saying, BUT.....

How cool is it that Toyota dealers and the like are buying Camaros at MSRP and putting the new Chevy on their lots? I just think its cool a competitor is doing some Camaro adveritising with the big Bowtie on the grille.

LOL the salesman could completely trash talk the car and it would still be a better billboard than money could buy... Its the biggest compliment you could hope for.

EDIT: Am I the only one that sees the silver lining?
