Tail of the Dragon photos
Re: Tail of the Dragon photos
I thought it was a beautiful road, nice scenery, depending how fast you drive it, it is fun also.
Never did the BRP. we were supposed to ride it all the way down one year, but never did
Re: Tail of the Dragon photos
Oh ya, look up killboy.com as well. They were one of the first if not thee first to take pictures and post them to view and buy.
We used to spend a week or so at a time down there on our bikes. I would love to get a group of camaros to go and hang out.
We would stay at Fontana Village ooff of 28 (Hellbender Highway) and ride the Cherahola Skyway....... Beautiful sweeping roads....

I did the run on August 6th it was right around noon. Killboy had some, but none that I really wanted to buy.
Perhaps I'll convince the wife to let me do that again next year

Awesome stuff, thanks for sharing. I have heard of this Tail of the Dragon but I refuse to do it until I finally get behind the wheel of my own Camaro. when I joined this site I said it would only be a few years, now it looks like a few years from now!
Anyway, great pics man!

There wasn't a lot of nice beautiful mountain scenery. Most of the road was just plain and nothing special. I drove it about a year after I drove the BRP from Cherokee, NC to Asheville, NC, so I guess I was probably comparing the 2 roads. Nothing against the Skyway, but you have to drive the BRP at some point if you ever get the chance! The BRP is just awesome throughout. There are some really cool pull offs that you just check out the scenery. The winding mountainous roads are just really fun also!

This is what I did to the trunk lid of the Camaro. https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=819797
I take it you aren't a fan of the highwing spoiler. Which is fine, since just about every Camaro I see has the lip spoiler.
I would have gotten this on the car had it been available when I ordered the car, but that was on constraint. I also have my original trunk lid should I want to switch back to the lip spoiler that the majority of camaros have.

Thanks. I can see how some don't like it, but I really think one should look at it in person and view the car from other angles. Besides it actually helps me in backing the car into a parking space at work.
I took the foothills parkway on the way over from Townsend and that was nice looking there. I do want to do the Blue Ridge Parkway sometime as well.

Re: Tail of the Dragon photos
Not good roads for cars that care about rock chips
Re: Tail of the Dragon photos
It is the right height from the front of the trunk lid. Due to the angle the back is taller. Had it been any shorter the way the wing goes along with the lines of the car, it wouldn't have matched.

Besides I've seen 3rd Gen's with similar wings.
