how bout DI5.5!
Re: Sympatico claims Z28 coming...
GM is beginning to kick themselves in the rear already, again. Let's make this brand have a 9 model line up! Then, lets add 6 sub-models!! GM, stop. We want you around in the future, this isn't the way to get there.

Guys keep in mind that the original article claimed that "Z28 will sit above the new ZL1 at the top of the Camaro line."
From what we have gleened from various sources and insiders so far on this website seems to suggest otherwise; that Z28 will sit between SS and ZL1 and be more in line with the Mustang Boss 302. That said, you can probably also take the "detuned LS7" comment with a grain of salt as well.
Not that an LS7 based, carbon fiber lightened, suspension tweaked version of the Camaro wouldn't be my ideal "Z28"...

Yup. If I were GM, that would be the direction I'd be looking to go with the car. It would generate nothing but excitement and people with the cash and interest wouldn't be able to resist themselves.

LS7 would do the Z/28 justice and at roughly 500hp would sit well between SS and ZL1. The only problem is if it was deemed too costly for the ZL1 it will certainly be too costly for a Z/28.
I think the best case senario if GM wants to keep the Z in the BOSS price range would be to make it the Grand Sport for the Camaro. Now that the ZL1 is here take the MRC shocks, brakes, electric steering and wheel/tire size combo and put it on an LS3 1SS with no option for sunroof or RS. Work on intake and exhaust (ZL1) to up the power to 440 or so to match BOSS and work on the weight loss like mentioned in this article.
Z/28 at 440HP 3750lbs $43k
