St. Louis car show - With Aqua Blue Camaro!
#18
I talked to him at the Indy Auto Show and mentioned you and he said you were a great friend. I talked to him for awhile...great guy. He moved the rope out of the way to let me get a picture of the front of the Dale Jr. car
Mike Rhudy -- from Kansas -- part of the Tornado Alley Camaro Club -- has about 17 Camaros -- mostly pace cars -- and I covet them all!
We purchased three for the Historic Collection from him two years ago...
1974 Z28 -- about 14,000 original miles
1977 Z28 -- about 7,000 original miles
1992 25th Anniversary 1LE -- about 4,500 original miles.
Great guy -- owns his own company, but loves Camaros and thus he works part time for Chevy at various auto shows--

I have to agree. I went to Disney World this past weekend and saw the Camaro at EPCOT's Test Track again. While it sure is a great looking car, I noticed that they also had a Stryker Blue G8, and that blue totally upstaged the Camaro's Aqua Blue. Stryker should be the Camaro's blue.

I've seen a lot of Stryker Blue G8s lately, and I can't stand that color, it's so...so... BLUE. I'm still waiting to see the Aqua Blue in person. Jet Stream Blue would be my preference, but it doesn't seem like that's happening.

The best way to describe Aqua Blue to those who haven't seen it in person is that it is more of a metalic teal than blue or green. If you are familiar with the Teal of the Jaguars.
Add metalic and this is pretty close.
Ironically, Fred Taylor (pictured here) was cut by the Jaguars yesterday.

Well is sure looks like the Aqua Blue that was on one of the Chevy's at the Jax show. (can't recall what the car was called. ugly little roller skate thing) It's the same shade being used on the Camaro, and at least under the lights at the Auto Show it looked just like Jaguar Teal to me. And I KNOW my Jaguar teal.

And I don't like Stryker Blue either. It's too intense. It looks like a true blue.
I think Jetstream Blue would have been the best choice from existing GM blues, although I'm not sure I have seen all the current GM blues.

This is a good pic of Aqua Blue, although, cameras tend to make it more blue than it really is. this is the same car pictured earlier. Doesn't even look like the same car.
Go to your local Chevy dealer. The color is available on the HHR.

People can't get it through their heads to go see it in person on the HHR's....they are going to be upset when it shows up on the dealer lots if they are expecting it to be blue. That will be one very heavily discounted color in 2 years. Argh.
This color will be great for those that want to relive the glory days of Teal green circa 1992 and are finally ready to trade in their Berreta GTU's.
I'd like to personally thank GM for perpetuating the mullet infested trailer park stigma of the Camaro by selling a color that went out of style precisely at the moment the last Corsica on earth died...I just hope they bring back the multi-mirrored Oakley blades to go with it.
