My guess (and this is a semi-educated guess from a guy who watches Ma Mopar fairly closely, not something informed by inside knowledge) is that the 6.1-powered manual-trans Challenger will base around $33k - $34k, and that horsepower-for-horsepower a given trim level of Challenger will cost a couple grand more than an equivalent Camaro or Mustang over the course of its lifecycle.

If I'm off, I'm probably low. I don't see it being cheaper, though I'd love to be proven wrong.

And yeah, the 6.1 isn't going to be the top V8 Hemi for much longer. They are aware of the need to get the Hemi into LS7 territory, and efforts have been underway for awhile.

I remember this was the subject of much debate a few months back on here, with many people saying that power level at that price point would never happen. I think it is also a decent bet that if there is a 425hp $30k Challenger, then there may very well be a higher price point, even higher power SRT Challenger in the works, at least some time down the road.

I feel that I might have a better handle on the Camaro than the Challenger - but like I said, just an educated guess. I'll go with georgejetson's thoughts on what a 425 horse Challenger will go for.

I wasn't trying to imply somehow that you had info on the Challenger. My point was more along the lines of, if GM can do a 400hp Camaro for $30k, then Chrysler can probably pull a Challenger off with similiar price point.
