A special prayer for Guy (GuionM) and family
A special prayer for Guy (GuionM) and family
Guy's father passed yesterday after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Please remember the McCoy family in your prayers and meditation. I will post additional details of the funeral service once I receive more information.
Guy -- You are a member of a great community -- the Camaro enthusiast community.....know that you're in our thoughts and prayers......
I'm attaching something that a good friend of my family sent me when my father passed. I hope it will give you the comfort that it gave me......
LIFE EVERLASTING
I am standing upon the seashore --
…a ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze,
…and starts for the blue ocean.
She is an object of beauty and strength,
…and I stand and watch her until, at length -
…….she hangs like a speck of white cloud -
….just where the sea and sky mingle with each other…………
Then, someone at my side says “There! She is gone!”
Gone where?
Gone from my sight, that is all.
She is just as large in mast and hull and spar
..as she was when she left -- and just as able to bear her load of living cargo…
……to her place of destination.
The diminished size is in me, not her.
And, just at the moment when someone at my side says --
“There! She is gone!”….
……..there are others on a distant shore watching her come into port.
….and their excited voices take up the glad shout:
“Here she comes! Praise God! Home at last!”

Guy,
Even though I know you only from your posts - and that's not really knowing you at all - I have gone from the most distant to the closest possible relationship with my father. And no matter where our relationship has been, and no matter how I've ever felt, I can't begin to imagine what this time must be like for you. My thoughts and best wishes are with you and your family.

Guy,
My sincere sympathies go out to you and your family. I lost my father to cancer on November 14th. It was sudden and unexpected and it left me feeling lost in the world without one of my closest friends and confidants. I only hope that you had the opportunity to spend some time with your father as his health diminished and will be able to honor his life as you morn his passing.
You and your family will be in my prayers.
