Of about 20 cars I've owned, my 2 most favorite exhaust sounds were my '85 5.0 LX Mustang and..... my '97 Z28. The '85 had a pair of Flowmasters, and my the exhaust on my LT1 was stock.

The Mustang had a sweet tone and a pleasant growl on the higher end.

The LS1 Camaros lost that sound.

The stock exhaust on the LT1 Camaro had the best bass of any car I've ever heard. One of my favorite party tricks when I had a friend in the car crusing LA was to drop down a gear after going a good pace on a residential street and the exhaust bass set off car alarms.

Combine the 2 and that would be perfect.

I've noticed that the LS series engines don't rev down very fast. When you pull your foot off the throttle abruptly, they just kinda settle back to idle slowly.
For some reason, the old Mopars seem to go back to idle instantaneously. As soon as you let off the throttle, they're back at idle. I love that.

But that Vette sounds pretty sick. Not like an old muscle car, but maybe more European.

Stock?!!?

I always thought stock camaro exhausts were way too quiet.
