Well Mr. Saleen is a salesman first and foremost. Was the best Mustang show he has ever been to in Bellevue WA? C'mon.
While I think he was just appealing to the crowd I don't think many of his comments are far from his true feelings. Origionally I was excited at the rumors that Saleen was going to be involved with the 5th gen Camaro only because it offered one more way to get a Camaro and more publicity. However, as we get closer to production I'm thinking it would be better for Mr Saleen to stick to what he does best spoilers, wings and ground effects and leave the Camaro alone.

& no it wasnt a V6 it was a V8 (the LS2 as a matter of fact.)

Damn I wish I knew he was going to be that close I wold have kicked his *** for those comments.

I said from the start Saleen is known for mustangs. This furthers my point that no one should buy his Camaros (if his old company decides to make them).

Yea that's another thing if MR. Saleen is so good at helping GM make the first Camaro then why didn't he know it was an LS2 V8 from the GTO that was used to make it....

No. I think he came across as a d-bag but his comments didn't upset me and I certainly didn't want to physically harm the man because of them.

I thought it was the LS1 from the old test gto's before they came over here. could have been an ls2 though, im not sure. but they were v8's... they were gto's.

so basically i just think he was saying what the mustang boys wanted to hear because thats what he is.

Steve is a Douche Bag.

He always has been and always will be.

End of Story.

I hope GM never even lets him drive a Camaro, kiss my *** Steve, go build another body kit and charge 6 times what its worth.

Carol Shelby would never put forth such a public display of ignorance, and I wish that Steve wouldnt either. Unfortunatley, he is diagnosed with the disease: Douchebaggery

Also, He didnt approach anyone, they approached GM and then him.

A little man from a little company who adds body kits to under performing Mustangs and charges people outrageous amounts of money for another run of the mill "special" Mustang.

GM will produce the Camaro, which will out perform from the outset, without using/needing "bodykits", obnoxious and tacky graphics, and underachieving modifications, and which will blow Saleens overpriced 'Pep Boys' "specials" into the weeds.

Not sure which is funnier... the video or watching you guys react to it as if he was stomping on your nuts while pouring sugar in your gas tank.

Both sides of the fence trash each other all the time...its nothing new.

If you're suprised at the comments, you obviously don't know Saleen...

Steve and my buddy Kenny Brown (also a Mustang guy....but a good one) used to be partners back in the day......Kenny said that Steve got the glory and he got left with the bills.

Don't get your panties in a wad, guys ..... clearly, he's being a smart-***!! He's a Mustang guy in a Mustang crowd ..... he's making a joke for their entertainment ..... at least that's how it appears to me?

Given the same opportunity, wouldn't you want to trash talk some Mustangs if you could?

I really don't see what the big deal is. Sure the guy's uninformed. So who cares? He's not the only Rustang fan that's uninformed, and I'm sure we'll hear a lot more of this, even when we're driving our new Camaros. In fact, I'm sure there will be lots of Rustang apologists out there who will not face a Camaro when challenged, but will bad mouth the car every second they can. It's no big deal.......I think they're called prey.

What's funny is that Saleen's trying to take some degree of credit for the Camaro at the same time he's slamming GM. That's hilarious to me! If there needs to be any better proof of how successful the Camaro concept has been, I don't know what it would be!

What's even funnier is guys who base the sole success of the car(s) on which car performs better stock out of the gates. These cars are all about personality and modability.

I'd be more more concerned of sales numbers than pure performance numbers at this point. People saying "I'm so going to own this car" are completely different then actually commiting to it and affording the payments.

Saleen is just cattering to the crowd... no different than Camaro guys ribbing mustang guys.

I just hope General Motors shuts him up. I swear if the new Camaro comes missing a set of *****, that will be a huge let down.
