Should the concept V8 Camaro be called an SS or Z28?
I know that this has been a great topic of debate so I would like to know, through this poll, how many people favor one badge over the other. I have a Z28 so naturally I would favor the Z28 badge over the SS badge, but I also favor it for one other reason: the Z28 badge was meant for only one car. Imagine if it wasn't and that, today, we'll have cars like the Malibu Z28, Monte Carlo Z28, Cobalt Z28, Silverado Z28, Trailblazer Z28...Get the picture? Ain't it great that the Corvette Z06 isn't the Corvette SS? I vote Z28. What do you vote for? Thanks in advance for the opinions.

yeah but with all the other threads going on around here we need a good ol' fashioned Z/28 vs. SS thread to go along with them.

I vote Z28 since there has always been a Z28 camaro. I could be wrong here but the majority of the time there was a Z. I'm not sure exactly but I'd say less than half of the 35 productions years saw a SS model. The body is heritage so should the badge. Not saying that I wouldn't like to see a killer SS in my driveway though.

Z28.. Cause I believe there shouldnt be an "intermediate" V8 (like the 5.3).
If it sells well, I think GM shoudl consider reviving the ZL1 tag for the 427 LS7 varient... it'll probably have to be mad expensive, but hey thats what you pay for ultimate performance.
I say let the SS be an apperance package like how it mostly was before, even back in the way past... Maybe 30 years from now people will forget that you could order the SS without the 427..
Goes along my theme of GM shouldn't sacrifice content for price anymore. Or styling to be "safe for the masses". The wishywashy people won't be buying this car anyways. They won't approve of a relatively large V8 muscle car no matter how many MPG it got. Just Go! Build the concept as a Z28.. and then later give a rediculous ZL1 model to shut the competition up..

In my opinion the SS models should carry a supercharger.. on the entire lineup of SS cars.. but *shrugs* what can you do?
The only way the Camaro Z28 will be top dog (bigger engine) is if the rumored? Corvette SS moves away do the Z06 can become top dog.
What sense does it makes if you go Z06 -> SS
and then the camaro is SS -> Z28?
Would it please everyone though if the Camaro SS was supercharged, less displacement, but more HP? like the Vette SS will be?

Hmm.. doesn't seem right for either. But, I would guess Z/28.
An RS model would be just this with a smaller engine.
The looks of this could accomodate a Z/28, but the hood is more SS-ish based on the 4th Gen hoodscoop, IMO.
The power is more SS-ish though if based on a 4th Gen perspective.

I don't get why people think the Z28 should be faster than the SS. When has the Z28 Camaro ever had more power than the SS? Am I missing something here?

I voted SS, but not because I favor it over Z/28. I think the Z/28 should have more than 400 HP, and it would be nice if they used a lower displacement, higher reving motor to do it with. It's just fantasy talk, but that's how I look at it.
