Ruthless Pursuit of Power: 2010 Edition
One of the best reads of the Camaro LS3 powerplant I've come across...

been posted before but a great read and one of the reasons I bought my LS3 SS.
But the mustang with it's 315HP 4.6L is in the game as I have read in countless threads now on a Camaro site...
C'mon....my opinion...GM still builds one of the world's great motor families. The LS family 1,2 and finally LS3 in Corvette/Camaro.

422 HP? First line.
Edit....that's a hard article to read, because while I'm not turning into Jake Robb or anything....lets just say that the writer is lacking in his writing skills. However, I pretty stopped when I got to this line:
While I completely and totally agree that the LS series of engines is better than Ford's Modular using virtually any meaningful metric, bragging about being on Ward's Top 10 three times since 1998 in the same paragraph that you're saying your so much better than the Ford OHC V8 is not a real smart thing to do. Why? Cause since 1998, the Ford Modular V8 has been on that silly list EIGHT times (the 3V 4.6 was on it every year from 05-08).
Oops.
Not dissing the LS3 at all. Fabulous powerplant, IMHO.

Performance-wise, they beat Ford's OHC V8s like a rented mule. They've been on Ward's 10 Best Engines List not just once, but three times since 1998.
