RE: High wing spoiler

I ordered mine with a high wing spoiler, and got the same reaction from my dealer. They really don't know anything about the options for this car, and don't care, because they are selling them without the customer being able to see, touch, feel, or drive them. It must be the greatest feeling in the world for a company that could have been out of business had we not bailed them out! If you return to the chevy.com site, and do the build your own thing again, they have updated the site so the 2ss shows the high wing spoiler on the car. Unless my myopic vision is fooling me, they are showing it with the lip spoiler still on the car, and the high wing added in a forward position. Whether this accurate or not who knows. I don't know anyone that has too many answers about this car.

Don't confuse GM/Chevrolet with the dealers. They are two completely separate entities.

What exactly did you order and not get?

i didnt even think the spoiler was available yet? i havent seen either spoiler available or out on a production car yet. as a matter of fact, halfthe items on the board at the INDY unveiling, isnt even out for the car. maybe they arent going to be available until actual 2010.

I think the lack of high wing spoilers out there is simply most people want the rs package and that cancels out the high wing spoiler option. And the spoiler also is only available in limited colors.

anyone can buy the high wing spoiler. it just doesnt mount in the same holes as the other 2 spoilers.(ss, dove tail) theres 2 options for anyone wanting the high wing spoiler. 1. re drill holes and fill existing holes and have it re sprayed. option 2, buy a new trunk lid and have it resprayed and drilled for high wing spoiler.

Id think there would be one somewhere.
I just wanna see the dovetail in person (from inside the car).

One of the reasons I like the high wing spoiler (I have one on my car right now) is that it gives me an exact location of where the butt of my car is when backing out of parking spaces.

Re: High wing spoiler

Has anyone actually gotten the high wing spoiler yet?

I thought it would look good on my car, but I have a feeling I need to get a new deck lid, and some more stripes.

Re: High wing spoiler

Well I got one and I did in fact get a new deck lid. Fortunately I was able to source one from Schram Auto parts that was in near perfect condition that was in Red Jewel.

Installing the High wing spoiler is a two person job. Specially putting on and aligning the new trunk lid.

I took pictures and will post up a DIY.

Re: High wing spoiler

so did you have to get a ls trunk lid? the high wing doesnt mount in the stock rs/ss spoiler location, does it?

Correct, Unless you get the stock holes filled from the RS, or SS spoiler, this spoiler does not use the same holes. I had to drill 5 new ones.

Since I was able to get a matching trunk lid without a spoiler already painted I went this route.
