Ran into VIN 032 W/PICS
Was coming home from work yesterday, saw Bumble Bee heading into starbucks so went to check it out as it was the first 5TH gen i saw out on the streets. Turns out it was an engineer from GM driving it around. He said it was car #032 Talked to him for a bit, he let me check it out and sit in. The seats were just amazing compared to my 4th Gen SS. He lives near me and said he is going to get a 2SS next week so i hope i can run into him agian.

Yes, they do. It's only going to be by managers or engineers, and it's just to do random "spot checks" to make sure that the line is still building the cars properly "quality assurance", basically . This isn't a new practise with the Camaro. They've been doing it all along with all of the vehicles they build.

He told me that he has taken both the V6 and V8 out on the Milford proving grounds before and absolutely loved them!!! He has also hot lapped some of his previously owned Z28 and worked on the 4th gen chassis and was currently working on some new German product but did not say what it was.

My '02 had ~32 on it. Obviously a few miles is to be expected. I'm sure over the course of how many are built though, the ones with more miles on them like that are few and far between . As well, I doubt they take the Production (sold) test vehicles to "Star Bucks" . The yellow one above is supposedly a CTF vehicle ... that seems more likely, as I'm sure they have less restrictions on using them as they do on taking a customer vehicle .

I wouldn't think a new Camaro should have more than 5 miles on it when its brought off the truck, if everything has gone according to plan. Sometimes, the dealer will get the new cars in and the PDI tech and/or salesmen will drive them. I remember when I worked at a Chevy dealership, the first unsold Hummer H2 that came off the truck pretty much left about an hour later with 4-5 techs in it. Same thing with the first 240hp Impala SS to hit the lot. By the time they were sold/titled to someone as a "new car," they had 100-300 miles on them from dealer test drives.
They don't, however, randomly pull cars off the line, stick a license plate on them, drive them to Starbucks, and then put them back in their original packaging and put them on a truck as a new vehicle.
At least I would hope not.

I really don't want to be insulting you or anything, but calling a 5th gen a Bumblebee i find offensive. Just like calling it a Camero or saying "look at the KITT car" to 3rd gen firebirds. Sorry i had it on my shoulder.
That being said, DAMN that's a nice car !

Uh, if I were given a car like that to drive, I sure as hell would park it a hell of a lot better than that guy did.
Actually, I park any car much better than that guy did. In fact, I park farther out where others won't park next to me. He's just asking for a door ding sitting that close to a 2 door Cobalt!
That's cool that he let you sit in the car though.
