Im thinking that maybe the official time from GM was achieved by letting the transmission shift on its own. I would bet that some better times will be had by manually shifting it at a more proper RPM.

. Even on STREET tires, I could cut 1.9x 60' times at the track! I suffered very little wheel-spin, even on the streets, and what spin I did get, was very minimal and easily controllable.Keep in mind something else about the 5th-gen ..... tall tires. They're what, ~28" tall? Compared to the 26" tires of the 4th-gens, the 5th-gen is already coming with a "higher" ratio in it, gear-for-gear. So a 3.40-something gear will act like a higher ratio in the 5th-gen. Low ratios (ie: 4.10's) will seem less "extreme" than they used to. I can see ~4.30's, perhaps even ~4.56's becoming a common mod for at least a FEW brave folks

When you work the ratios out, 1st gear on a 6L80 with 3.45 rear gears and 28" tires is an almost-identical overall ratio to 1st gear on a 4L60E with 4.10 rear gears and 26" tires. Based on that, I am inclined to argue that the 5th gen should get off the line quite well from the factory!

Z-rated means the tire is good for at least 149 mph. For several years now, all Z-rated tires have come with a secondary speed rating, which is located after the load load index (collectively, the load index and the secondary speed rating are called the Service Description). This rating gives the tire's actual max speed.
The PZero tires that come on the SS are 245/45ZR20 103Y in the front and 275/40ZR20 106Y in the rear.
Y indicates 186mph.
