I just have a bad feeling when the camaro comes out it is going to turn into a reapeat of the gt500 release

 

Solstice? Z06? 2005 Mustang? GT500? 2004 GTO? etc.. etc...

You don't have to be a braniac to figure out that the release of the new Camaro will be entail some BS pricing. Dealers will be adjusting the price upward on the V6 and entry level V8 cars for as long as they can. This price gouging should die down after a few months.

Then once a "top dog" Camaro comes out they will adjust the price up A LOT. Depending on how many "Top Dog" Camaros GM makes, that will determine how sticky the price adjustments will be and how long they'll last.


MY ADVICE TO ANYONE THAT DOESN'T WANT TO DEAL WITH THE BS:
Wait to buy.

 

I live in Mpls and emailed this ********. I told him give me some info that is not posted on this site. I also asked him to put it in writing that he would guarantee not to sell any new Camaro over MSRP. Let us see what he replys to me if he even has the guts.

If they start that raising the MSRP for poppularity crap, I'll sit out the first year...

I bought mine yesterday, and was driving it today...problem is that it's only 28 inches long and remote controlled.

I'm sure the GM dealer's have been drooling over the thought of pocketing all the money that the Ford dealers did by ripping off customers for over MSRP pricing. If that many dealers drool for that long they will surely attempt to make $20,000 in their pocket for every sale. The ford dealers did it with the GT500.....and you can bet the GM dealers will too. Get ready to bid on EBay if you want a ragtop in the first year of production and halfway through the second year too. Ya still can't get a GT500 for MSRP and how many years have they been out now?????.

 

I bought my 2003 50th Anniversary "Limited" Edition Vette 2 months before any pricing came out on the car and I paid MSRP.
I signed a contract with a dealer stating that I would not pay more than MSRP for the car and that the car would not cost more than $5,000 over a standard vette. Some dealers where selling them for $5,000 to $20,000 over depending on where you lived.
MSRP Camaro's will be available but they will be few and far between.

 

If you order a car, you HAVE to pay MSRP, right? I was planning on ordering one anyway, they never have the right color/combo of stuff I want on a lot anyway.

 

The difference there is that the C5 had been on the market for years already.

 

You don't HAVE TO pay MSRP but they shouldn't be able to charge you more than MSRP for one if you factory order it.

My friend knocked $4000 off a factory ordered 2002 Z28. But yeah, for the 5th gen it will just be MSRP and not a dollar off.

 

First, I am new to the forum.....so Hi.
Second, I have already signed up with my local dealer as to be first in line. I have been down this road when I got my 1K Solstice. I have a contract with the dealer, stating they will sale at MSRP, and that I get to option the car to my liking (dealer est. a four car allocation). I know some of you have been through the same thing with other hot cars (GT500, Z06, GTO). Good luck an I look forward to being apart, and learning a lot from the forum.
