Poll: Body color matching ground effects

I really want these ground effects for my camaro, but i dont want them to be grey. i want them to match the color of my car(black) and if we got this to work to have blue for the ss, i think we can get the ground effects painted to match our cars.
let me know what you think.

We should definitely be able to get body-color ground effects. I don't like two-tone color schemes.

i dont understand it either but i really would like to know their reasoning behind only painting it one color. unless your car was cyber metallic grey, i dont see the sense in everyone who buys this kit, having the same color ground effects. it has always matched the car in the past.
and if you want to have the ground effects painted grey and put on your white car, then you should be able to order it like that. but i want mine black on black.

I guess I missed where they said it they would be grey, but if thats the case then thats ridiculous. We have seen many pics showing the panels, but I thought they were grey so they would be noticed and you can really see the added pieces

no it says it is some of the literature somewhere that it is available in the grey. as to why they would just say its available in 1 color and not say available in all colors, i dont know.

Not exactly. Third gen Z28s from 82 through 87 had different color ground effects. 85-90 IROC ground effects and 91-92 Z28 ground effects always matched.

I'd want mine to match and I'd pay extra for factory paint.

ok sorry i was refering to the 4th gen my bad. every kit i have seen on the 4th gen matched the paint.
i dont thin we should have to pay extra for it to be whatever color your car is. if they are going to take the time to paint it grey, and probably spend more money on that, then why not just do it right the first time?

Since the aero kit is installed by the dealer, you'd probably have to have them repaint it in the color of your choice before installation.

so your saying that it comes grey from the factory ready to install already painted?
if thats what you are saying, that is why i started this poll to get a paint job from the plant in the color of our car.
i dont want to have to have it repainted by some regular joe at the chevy dealership paint shop. the factory paint from the plant is stronger and better than the paint they put on at the dealerships.
i dont want to have to worry about the dealership messing up on the paint job, i want it to come already painted the color i want.

I would never consider ground effects at any price unless they matched the car. This car is not some local kid's ricer that was handed down from Uncle Joe when he died in the nursing home.....

This is accurate, I confirmed with Cheryl yesterday.

so it comes grey already and there is no changing that except to have them strip off the paint and repaint it the color you want? having to end up paying more money to get it to be a color to match your car? that is rediculous!

the main reason i want it to come painted the color of my car is because i want to have a totally stock appearing car and have all the paper work say that nothing has been altered or modified unless it was done fro the plant. 30 years from now i want all my information on my order sheet to match the car. and having to repaint the kit , it wont be the origional work. paper work will say grey ground effects and they will be black. im sorry if im in a rant here. but that just pisses me off.

Even if you left it gray, it's still a dealer installed option. It won't be on the build sheet nor will it be on the factory window sticker.
The ground effects kit will never be a factory installed part, no matter what color it is.
It will always be a "added after production" part.

So the only way to make sure that people say in 30 years "that car is all original and numbers matching" is to not install anything on the car. Period. If that's what you're worried about.
