Report: Camaro Muscle Car Coming Back
Sunday August 6, 6:14 pm ET
GM Reportedly Plans to Bring Back Chevrolet Camaro Muscle Car As Early As 2008
DETROIT (AP) -- General Motors Corp. plans to bring back the Chevrolet Camaro as a production vehicle, according to a published report.
GM Chairman and Chief Executive Rick Wagoner is expected to announce the return of the muscle car in a speech Thursday at an automotive conference in Traverse City, the Detroit Free Press reported Sunday.
The production version could be built as early as 2008, the newspaper reported, citing unnamed people familiar with the plans.
GM spokesman Christopher Preuss said Sunday he couldn't comment on the report.
GM had won praise for its Camaro concept, which was unveiled in January at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The 2002 model year was the last for the Camaro, which began its run with the 1967 model.

Re: Official: Camaro in 2008
LOL. I called this a long time ago, when everyone was winning they were getting rid of it. That they would bring it back under a whole new look. It's a standard marketing scheme.
You say your getting rid of it....people buy lots, cause you won't be able to them. Then when they come back out the are "New" and everyone wants the new awesome Camaro.
I wish I could find my old posts. I so called this GM is so predictable.

2008 is a long ways away.
by then the new mustang will be out for 3 years and probably be close to a facelift.
the challenger should be out.
and who knows what gasoline prices will be.
I hope this isn't doomed before it gets started. it would suck to see the camaro die again.
