OEM Hurst Shifter

Re: OEM Hurst Shifter
They keep pushing the release date back. My guess is, when dealers (like me) order the car, we automatically add the hurst...which has kept demand up with supply....
They really had an opportunity to market GM accessory parts here, to car buyers - and promised and not deliver.

Any update on this? Any word when this will be a part we can order through our dealerships and have it installed? I really love the loook of the OEM Hurst shifter.

Not available yet.... not sure WHY they haven't released it to the dealers as an accessory, except for the fact I think most dealers are putting this in their stock ordered units.... like me...

Re: OEM Hurst Shifter
I don't know what the issue is with getting it in your area(s). I actually ordered the KAE factory Hurst shifter from a friend who works at the parts department of a Buick/GMC dealer about 40 miles away from me because he gave me a better price than my local Chevy dealer. Better yet, the local Chevy dealer installed it yesterday for me and it is really an improvement over the stock shifter. I have been following the availability of this since I couldn't order it for my new 2011 last July because it was on constraint (they actually started factory installing them the week after my car was produced in August of 2010). It has been available to purchase for the better part of a few months now from any GM dealer. If you need the part numbers for the shifter and ****, let me know.

Re: OEM Hurst Shifter
Shifter is part #24257312. **** w/boot is part #24257863. Purchased through www.gmpartshouse.com and picked up at their location which was local to me to save freight. Contact Gene Culley there and he should quote you a competitive number that is far less than the $850+ list prices that these parts carry. It will be more expensive than the aftermarket Hurst shifter, but it is a complete replacement of the OEM factory shifter, and not just a replacement of part of that factory shifter, which the Hurst aftermarket shifter is. The throw is shorter on the aftermarket, but I think the feel and finish is much better on the OEM Hurst factory shifter. JMHO...
Good luck!
