NEWS: Video: Watch the Chevrolet Camaro Z28 flogged on the 'Ring
Filed under: Spy Photos, Coupe, Performance, Chevrolet
We've seen the Camaro Z28 from nearly every angle, but we haven't seen it driven in anger. That's rectified today with the release of a new spy video showing Chevrolet's 500+ horsepower pony car being flogged at the Nürburgring in preparation for its debut within the next few months. More impressive than the supercharger whine emanating from the 6.2-liter LSA V8, is the surprising lack of squat, dive and body roll as the Z28 launches out of the starting gate, tackles a few high speed turns and comes flying out of the Carousel. See for yourself in the video after the jump.

Definate supercharger whine at 1:25.
I'll make a lap time guess of 7:54
I do think GM gets this car tuned to utilize the suspension/brakes and engine from the CTS-V but with a slightly better power to weight ratio and balance.

My guess is 8.0 minutes flat.

I do think it beats the automatic CTS-V, LS2 C6 and LS6 C5 Z06. I also think the 8:20 for the Camaro SS wasn't the best it could do either. I think GM put more purpose on development of the 5th Gen over going for a good time.
Biggest variable to me is auto or manual and who drives it. Don't think John Heinricy will handle the duties after his retirement. The difference between drivers can be a couple of seconds over the 12.94mi track.
I would think Jim Mero who drove the ZR1 or Jan Magnussen who drove the C6 Z06 could get the best time possible from a Camaro at the Ring.
