I swear this car is beautiful from the profile and front..........as soon as I see the back I can't convince myself it's the same car. I could not dislike it more.

as would any performance modification. I'm just comparing what was available as OE content to refute the point raised that FCars never handled well.

Anyone want to guess on the size of those rotors? If we assume that those wheels are 20's, I'd guess that they're 14 or 15 inchers.

I dont think I would agree with that. The 3rd and 4th gens handled pretty good to me

I'm guessing 14. The ZR1 has 15" rotors... it seems highly unlikely (though not entirely impossible) that the Camaro would match the ZR1 on that particular spec.

Brembo OEM blanks will fix that. Very affordable at about $60 each.

I've turned mine blue a couple times (most recently the weekend before last) with no ill effect.

I'd guess no more than 13 - 13.5 inches Charlie. The ZR1's 15.5 inch rotors positively FILL the 20 inch wheels on that car.

Around here we say "1LE." You know better than that.

I think they would of painted over them if they were there for any other purpose than going on the production car.

They knew we'd see the car at the ring.

What we're seeing here are elements of a high end model. Most probably for the Z/28.

I wonder what color those calipers will be after a week or two at the 'ring.

You can always tell who road races their CTS-V. Their silver Brembo calipers turn kind of a goldish color from the heat.
If done intentionally with a heat sensitive paint, that would be an interesting right of passage for Camaro owners (and a way to identify others).

edit: that'd make an interesting effect on the resale value though.
Maybe a heat sensitive paint on the body.

We aren't even 100% sure what engine is going in it and you are already planning an engine swap? I'm guessing by your name...maybe an LS9? Which is pointless. Just mod the engine that is already in the car and save some cash.

I think your logic is flawed.

Maybe they were just trying them out. Maybe the test at the 'ring didn't go well, and the production car will end up with Baers.

Or maybe that car is just a drivetrain/suspension mule, and they put whatever brakes they had lying around on it (same as they did with the headlights). If that just happened to be a set of Brembos with red calipers, so be it.

Based on the fact that we haven't seen Brembos on other Camaros I'm going to guess this is the top end V8. Not even the mid V8. I think we saw the mid range V8 in Sweden pics.

You didn't address my logic: They knew these brakes would be seen and would have painted over them for this reason.

But I do recognize and respect that you think they may not go on a Camaro.

I don't think they would have painted over them. That's extra work and extra expense, for very little payoff. As I said a few posts back -- would you seriously be less interested in this car if it came with non-Brembo brakes, assuming that whatever brakes it does come with still meet your performance desires?
