NEWS: Lutz Offers Details on the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro
A good idea of the B pillar has been right infront of us all along. The Bumble Bee.

Here it is on the outside of the car and I expect the production car to look much like this. This is the real movie car and not a chop.

Here is another side shot to get an idea. Keep in mind the fixed rear window in also a strenght point as windows today are glued in to help support the roof and airbags. Yes glass today has become part of the structure.

I own a car with T tops now and I think they looked great on the 3rd and 4th gens.
But putting them on this car is like putting one on a first gen. That would be like going to a ministers funeral dressed in feathers.
T tops need to be incorperated into a cars styling to look right. This cars roof line is just not T top material. That just my opinion.
I was also never a fan of the looks of the Monte SS with T tops. They looked too much like an after thought.
I don't even think a sunroof would look right unless it slides into the roof. If it sticks up in the air it will kill the cars lines when open. Now if the roof line is low the roof sliding in would kill head room so it is a no win on the sun roof.
I think a coupe and convertible is enough to keep the majority happy.
up until hey announced production plans we had no Camaro in sight, so would I worry about a lil b-pillar?, hell NO!
I'm more concerned with getting a 6 speed, 450+ hp V8 and a car under 3600 lbs.
I would love factory installed t tops or a targa top.

I got it.
But anyway....I suppose I should of added a couple of smilies on top of the "/me ducks...." comment to accentuate the frivolity of my post.

Ive got a quick question. I'm pretty sure I know what a b-pillar is, I was just wondering which coupes these days have one, so I can get a rough idea of what one looks like on a Camaro. It seems like a lot of people are upset about the B-pillar and I think I dont have the right image in my mind of what a coupe will look like with one. Does the new XK have a b-pillar? What about the 6 series?
Okay, I just found Rampants post on page 7 of this thread. So, that is what so many of you are mad about? I personally barely see the difference, and it by no means threatens the cars shape or style. I looked at other coupes with b-pillars, cars that I happen to think are as hot as hell, and the b-pillar doesnt stand out...at all. The photoshops that I have seen on the Camaro and the look that Bumblebee has, doesnt turn me off of the new Camaro at all. Really, what is the big deal?
Oh I know, maybe your guy's mascara is running to much and you can't seem to find a tissue from your purse.

Yes....in fact I have two deposits down at two separate dealers with a written guarantee at both to not charge me over MSRP. If the prices go nuts I'll sell the first one at a profit and keep the second one. If the prices don't go nuts I'll just cancel the deposit on the second one and get my money back. I refuse to be a "victim" of the same crap that has gone on with the musturd GT500....and if the same crap does go on I will profit from it instead of being a victim of it.
I got the humor in that one.
B-Pillar? Who cares....just like the bumblebee pics - NO BIG DEAL. Lighter? Better. Stonger? Better.

T-Tops?
That would COMPLETELY ruin the design of this vehicle. Never was, nor should be, a production option/consideration. NEVER. Period. Not in this design. Sorry. My only major gripe will be the wait. It will be way too long.
I may forget why I wanted one by then.....
Any chance it might be a 2008 1/2 model?

<ummmm.....no! -- exit, stage left>
Dude...I got it. We're not getting T-tops. Roger. You don't think they'd look good on this car anyway. Got that too. It has all been stated time and time again in this thread. Personally, I'd still like to have em, and for the record, I think they looked just fine on the G-body, most especially the TR. But that's all....you guessed it....personal opinion. And it still doesn't change the fact that they won't be available on the 5th Gen.
I got it.

Dude.... You asked me...."just look at that car....isn't it just SCREAMING for T-tops"?... and I gave my opinion.
Never said they were not doing it and never said you were wrong, just stated why I don't like em on the 5th gen.
If you don't want an honest ansewer don't ask the question Dude.
I think it is time for all of us give this thread a rest..................

Now will GM be able to put a small "post" up from the end of the door to the roof or will it be a larger more obstructive and less visually pleasing fatter wider bar like say the 350Z. Dodge has a similar issue with the Challenger.

....enter the bean counters.....
