New camaro seen in Colorado
New camaro seen in Colorado
So there I was driving up I-70 west of denver going snowboarding on feb 11, and what do I pass but the new camaro covered in camo. It was very obvious that it was the new camaro. Just thought some of you would like to know. And yes, I now want one very bad.
Well there was one in Detroit with camo still on so there can be more.
I get the feeling what ones had it still do and what new ones that are being put on the road may not have it.
Who would what to have to pull all that tape off!

I believe GM does alot of mule testing in Colorado. I think they are testing high altitude and stress from long climbes in the mountains.
I used to be based in Denver and drove into the mountains all the time. It was almost common to see GM test cars out there. I remember seeing the SSR for the first time in a hotel parking lot near Steamboat Springs. It was parked with about 4 Corvettes. All of them had test plugs under the bumper and test equipment inside. None of them were in camo however.
I can easily believe that at least one Camaro test mule is in Colorado.

Death Valley is often used for hot weather testing in the summer.
Northern Michigan and Canada are used for Cold weather testing right now.
We should also see the Camaro at the Ring soon in Germany as this is where all the performance cars are tested on GM's trips over. They are due to be there soon and I would exprct to see the Camaro testing on the next trip.
Also there will be many running around Detroit as it is normal to see mules and preproduction cars there often.
Sorry, I dont have any pics. He exited and I was not able to get around in time. And yes, We get incredible numbers of test vehicles up here. I saw the Ford GT before it was released, I saw new c6 vettes before their release too. Its pretty cool. I was a little surprised that they would take the camaro up here this time of year though. We actually got a major snow storm up here that day and it took me two hours to drive 20 miles. Wonder how the camaro fared in that?
I've done it.
Not just in my current B4C, but also in my last Z28 on trips to Reno. The Z28 I drove back to Pennsylvania twice. Once in the winter. Through snow.
Also ran both the Thunderbird SC and my 85 Mustang in the snow in winter cross country trips.
The concept is called "utilizing all-season or performance snow tires ."
My '97 Z28 had this neat invention called traction control. Both that Z and my SCs had an equally cool invention called Anti-Lock-Brakes.
Never had a problem driving them in snow that you could drive FWD.
I guess driving RWD in the snow is a lost art with today's less-than-capable drivers.

I have vowed that if it ever snows here (not likely with global warming right, oh wait it snowed 2 years ago
) that I won't leave the house due to the idiots that can get a license.
This is so true that its sad, people here in Phoenix have even lost the art of how to drive in the RAIN.
