Yes, we asked at the NY Autoshow.

You push in the front of the handle and it pops the back out, then you hinge it forward as you described.

like he said, you push it at the rear part of the handle, the front pops out, and then you just push that to the back and it opens.

Had to give a shout out to Scott, the Dallas shots kick ***! I'm using the one with my office building in the background as my desktop wallpaper
