New Camaro

Is this really being released? I know a die hard Chevy fan who says this car has been pushed back a ton of times and will never come out. Any truth to this?

It will be in dealer show rooms in about a year from now. It was never pushed back. It was rumored to be at such and such date, but the offical word from GM since they announced its green light was on sale 1Q of 2009 as a 2010 model.

Oh....It's coming. Be afraid. Be very afraid. (If you're a Mustang )

Yeah, tell him not to worry. Nothing's been pushed back as far as GM has let us know.

You've been a member since 2003 and over 1,600 posts, and you haven't kept up with the Camaro news?

Yes, this car is darn near in production--the only thing you need to worry about is what color you want yours to be.

Yea... hahaha I never really got too involved with Camaro news. I heard it was due out in early 09 but this dude claimed to know so much about it and said it has been pushed back yada yada yada. So I wanted to check up on it.

I have been mostly checking up on options. So far i've heard 2 different V8 models. One with over 500hp and one with around 430(LS3). 305hp V6 and all this crazy stuff.

Pretty darn close to what we've been hearing.

I am most interested in price though. I doubt very much that it will be within 10k on the base Vette. Makes no sense to be that close to a Vette.

A brand new Camaro going for 35k sounds f'n delicious.

All rumors so far. No engine or even trim options have been noted. All we have is numerous spy pics of the exterior and interior. One spy pic seemed to show a Camaro with the same engine cover that's used on the new CTS 3.6L V6. Some other pics show dual exhaust pipes. We do know the fuel filler door is on the passenger side rear quater panel. Speculation of wheel size and style are rampant too. Nobody has seen the production headlights either. The body shape seems to be altered only slightly from concept.
The car is to be on the Zeta platform (RWD/IRS) and will be built in Oshawa Ontario.
Anything else is pure rumor or speculation. The only person on the site whom knows for sure can't say but does this a lot... for hints. Indy from Sept. 19-21, 2008 seems to be the unveiling and then we'll know for sure.

you are probably close on the hp on all 3.

Preproduction has a better looking grille insert than the concept that I hope it keeps. The bumble bee concept push car(not the movie cars) is probably the closet we will see to production headlights. No hidaways but posibility of an RS appearance package that may be across all or most trim levels. Gas cap moved to pass side. Production will have B pillars which means no roll down 1/4 windows and no T Tops. There is a sunroof option.

For not following it much you picked the right site to check in on. Spy shots are all over this board but ignore the headlights because they are the wrong ones.
