My thoughts on March 16, 2009
Very, very well said Scott. Today has been a long time coming and I am so incredibly thrilled that Camaro's are running down the production line. It will be such a wonderful sight to once again drive by a Chevrolet dealership and see the Camaro grace the showroom floor.
Scott,
You always do have a way with words that borders on poetic. I am willing to bet that there wasn't at least a moment today when any of us real Camaro lovers didn't have a tear in our eyes thinking about what was happening today. We are all one big family, dysfunctional at best, but still the envy of all the rest.
I still remember back when I got my car after 4 long months of waiting. I just walked around it looking for the longest time. Then after getting the t-tops off it was time for her to come to life. What an amazing thing to hear her for the first time. Then I popped in a cd that started with a movie clip that was only fitting. "If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I!" And the rest is history my friends.

Scott, your posts inspired us to recollect the nostalgic times we have had with out cars and let us daydream about us in a 5th gen. Many times you have set us straight with rumors, and stood your ground with many naysayers.
Your consistent, positive words have led us in keeping the faith. Today that faith paid off for many.
Well done Scott...well done.

Great post, Scott.
I was there at the Heritage Center and NAIAS on the 8th and 9th. Truly something I'll not forget, and I'm grateful to have had the chance to be a part of it. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication to Camaro and to GM in general.
My own time with GM was cut short in August of '07 when GM sold Allison (after 4 years in Michigan starting in 2001, mostly at Milford, I transferred within GM Powertrain to work for Allison in June of 2005). I will always consider myself to be at least in some way a part of the family.
Most of us here are thrilled to see the car come back, and I can't imagine how you and the rest of the team must feel today after all your efforts.
Thanks again!

I am keeping my 89 Formula 350.
However, I have had some Camaros in my car ownership history (87 PLAYERS IROC--1 of 53) and am glad it's back.
A few years ago I had it in my mind to get a brand new 5th gen so in a way I feel a bit left out. But I am not sure the new one is for me anyways......probably grow on me when I see a nice coloured one in person.
Seemed like Chevrolet had someting missing these 8MYs
Look forward to driving one in the future
