Some interesting posts by Hudson.
* Oshawa 1 and Oshawa 2 will build Zeta.
* 500,000 annual units.
* 4 products approved.
* Camaro, Impala, DTS, Lucerne...........(some deduction by me here)

Hmmm, those are vastly different cars in terms on size (and weight), or at least should be IMO. Is Zeta THAT flexible? The Camaro sharing a platform with those luxo-barges (generalizing, please bare with me) means either:

1.) Camaro could be bigger and heaveir than we really want, or,
2.) next gen Impala, DTS, Lucern will be lighter and sporter that the current models.

I think the units are highly inflated.

And as of right now, there is no real answer as to where the Camaro is going to be built. Its all speculation.

DTS and Lucerne would probably be based on Holden's Statesman. Camaro will have some specific structure, not shared with the sedans - even the smaller than Statesman, Impala. But I see your point. I too, fear Camaro growing larger than the Concept. I've already voiced my concern on this to the program people.

Well not all of it is speculation.....we have it down to pretty much two places....

And Oshawa seems most likely for a multitude of reason....do a search...its been talked about...

Is only the DTS going to be on Zeta, or will more Cadillacs be on it? Does this mean the revised Sigma was not large enough for the DTS?

Hmm, I would still think GTO and a Buick Sedan (Statesman?) on Zeta rather than Lucerne and DTS.
However Lucerne and DTS both go RWD on their next generation right?

Oh, the possibilities!!! Most of which confuse me, lol.

I was reading that last night.

I seriously doubt the DTS will be on that chassis, and my understanding is that Buick will get a RWD sedan early on, so that eliminates Lucerne.

I also very seriously question the 500K per year number. Impala is being cut to 250K. DTS is tentatively set for Lansing on Sigma. My understanding (and I'll certainly admit I may be wrong on this) is that the Statesman will be brought in from Holden while Lecerne runs it's course, and then D-H is slated to make these uber-luxury cars Lutz & Cadillac are desparately trying to get a case together for.

My understanding also is that Oshawa #2 production will be moved to Osh 1 and the plant gutted to be set up for flex assembly of both RWD & FWD cars. Meanwhile I personally doubt Osh 2, though planned for closure, actually will.

I know GM has 2 options. putting all the coupes on an assembly line at Wilmington Delaware and using Oshawa as a bargining chip, or putting all the coupes on a line at one of the Oshawa plants and using Wilmington for expanded Kappa production.

Apparently, the coupes will be out before the sedans. If Lutz is ever able to convince the "adults" (as he put it) at GM to make the El Camino, it could show up a mere matter of months after approval according to (some people at) Holden.

We should find out soon.

(Seems I was wrong about New York being the place )

As much as I am partial to it being build in the U.S. Oshawa 1 and 2 seem to be very good facilities. Plus with Zeta being that flexible costs would be reduced greatly compared to a Camaro and GTO platform onto themselves.

People, people, settle down. Back in the 1960's Camaro and the full size Chevrolet were built at the same facility.

IMO, GM missed that boat. The truck and suv craze is over, and what couldve been a smash-hit is going to be too little, too late.

Again.

Re: More Zeta speculation fodder!

Does this mean that the Camaro could be made in Oklahoma City, or a different product? Of course, the way things are going 'nothing' could be made here at the GM plant, but it would sure be nice!
