A Misleading and Honest Dealer at the same time!!!

These are a few emails that have been going back and forth.
I have been wondering about ADM's and trying to see who is BSing me and who is not. Needless to say this one is not getting my business.
At least he was honest about the allocation, MSRP with no ADM but Chevy only producing 9,000? Right. Names have been removed though.

Here are the emails for you to laugh at.

Hello Jason,

Thank you for your request. My name is xxxxxxx, Internet Sales Manager for Friendly Chevrolet. I have been here over 16 years and we have been the number 1 Chevrolet dealership in Minnesota for 11 years in a row. The Camaro is going to look great and will be very sought after when they start showing up. We are not like most dealerships where they are putting an ADM on them, but we are selling them for msrp. We are scheduled for 19 Camaros and are taking orders on a first come, first serve basis. We only require a $1,000 non-refundable deposit to prevent anyone from ordering one that isn't serious about it. Just to let you know, none of our salespeople are paid on commission, so it's not like we are holding up the price so we get paid more money, but with GM expected to only build 9,000 total, they will be few and far between. I hope this answers some of your questions for you, is there anything else that I can help you with? Would you like to be one of the lucky 19 to get one? I would like to earn your business, just let me know how I can help. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like to set up a visit.

Sincerely,

Internet Manager

Subject: Re: 2010 Camaro

Glad to hear about the no dealer markup. One correction thou, Chevy is not limiting production to just 9000 units. Per Cheryl and Bob Lutz they are hoping to sell up to 100,000 in the first year. If you would like to check out Camaroz28.com there is alot of info on there. The Mods of the site were part of the focus group from beginning to end. I am waiting another year for the 2011 Convertible to be released. I am planning on a 1ss in Inferno Orange with black cloth interior. Black Top with black ralley stripes. Thanks again

Jason,

I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to mislead you, I was just relaying the initial information that was given to us. We have ordered a few of the inferno orange coupes already, I'm sure those will be a hot car. Maybe I can earn your business on the convertible when the time comes.

Post his emails for us to laugh at, AND invite him to the website to see said post! Priceless!

9,000 units...should have hit the 0 key one more time, that's more like it.

i went to two local dealerships on tuesday and one said no mark up the other said they will mark them up because they will be limited (he threw the ZR1 in there as comparison so he meant limited). when i questioned it he said there would be plenty of v6's but the SS will be limited. i finally starting walking away because i was tired of listening to him when he was clearly uninformed. not to mention he was leaning all over my Z as he was talking. he also said there would be a $3,000 deposit to order with them. needless to say i won't be buying my camaro through them.

do we know the breakdown of v6 vs. SS?

Here is another one I got from Grossman Chevrolet in Bloomington Mn.
At least this one was honest.
Also, The guy from Polar Chev looked at this website and built his own. He just went wow why can't Chevy be this quick.
At least there are 3 dealers here in the Twin Cities that are willing to sell for MSRP or less.

Hi Jason,

Thanks for your interest in Chevy Camaro. As of now, we have been allocated 10 cars and have taken 8 orders leaving two spots available.

Our price will be MSRP without any ADM for over MSRP.

Would you like to place an order?

Give us call 952-435-8501

Thank you,
