lol at this guy i work with
Guys, I live in Oshawa. You don't know half of what I know about the upcoming Camaro
. You best not be making any $100 bets yet, 'cause you may be out some money
. I really WILL have a Camaro in my driveway within 6 months
. Mark my words. Bet ya $100 on it
.
It'll be a 2002 Z28 though
.
And really, I don't know anything more than anybody else just because I live in Oshawa ..... I wish I did
.
Your "buddy" at work reminds me of a guy who swore that his friend's '96 TA had a 305 in it ..... I told him "all '93 - '97 TA's / Camaros had the same 350 'LT1' engine" ..... he didn't believe me
.

That's not as irritating as a Pontiac salesman I once met.
It was late 1978 and I was getting ready to place an order for my 1979 TransAm Black/Gold WS6. I was at the largetst Pontiac dealership in Washington (in Seattle). At the time, I owned a 1976 TransAm 50th Anniversay (Black/Gold) edition with the Hurst T-Tops (the first car to ever have them).
In fairness the car was a bit rare as there were only around 3,000 made in total and only about 600 wound up with the T-Tops but this idiot salesman stood a foot from my car and called me a lier when I told he what the car was...he swore that Pontiac had never made a car like mine and that it had to be something I had done on my own.
Needless to say, I told the guy and his equally stupid sales manager what they could do, respectively, with their opinions (I may have made some mention about their parentage as well) and then placed my order at another dealership.

In 1996 I came across a Hawaii subsidised Mustang police car (officers get money to partly cover buying their own patrol cars, and Mustangs, Camaros, and Impala SS was the favorites back then) at a Ford dealer that I stopped to look at. On the other side of the lot where the new cars are, there was a new Thunderbird LX that was the same midnight blue as my '89 SC, so I went over to take a quick look.
To make a long story short, when the salesman came over & I told him I was just looking and I wasn't intrested since they stopped making the SC, he tried everything to convince me that LX was better. He 1st said the new one had the same wheels (he saw mine across the street, and couldn't really tell the difference) & claimed the new one was faster. After which I rattled off horsepower and torque numbers between the 2 and mentioned that I had 16" wheels while the ones on this new one had 15s and looked alot different despite similar design.
Then there were the bozos I came across when I wanted to buy a new GTO a year and a half ago.
From my own experiences & reading about others, it just goes to show you how rare our resident car sales people on this site really are.
