Let's Show Diff. In Concept and Production

Starting with, the 4th gen's concept. Does anyone remember it? Someone from LS1tech says this is it

Gross.

But I'm not sure if it's real. It looks too retarded to be real. There must be a concept photo somewhere for us to compare.

I for one like the concept, and expect a few changes, but this thread is to ease the doubts of people that don't like it.

Actually, it does seem that more and more often there are more similarities between concept and production than in the past. But still, there are times when it is much different, even today. Wasn't the GTO concept quite different?

I think Marc's closest, from whta I remember that's actually a Firebird concept. There were two threads in the appearance forum like last week about camaro and firebird concepts for the 4th gen.

Good grief, it's scary just how god awful ugly 99% of the 4thgen concepts were. I always slam on the 4thgen's proportions being screwed up, but coming from those kinds of concepts I'm pretty amazed the 4thgen ended up looking decent at all, jeez...

That pic is not of a Corvette concept... its the California Camaro. There was no actual debuted concept for the 4th gen. The cars were under wraps until production models were released. The car pulls heavily from that Camaro Concept, but its not a technical 4th gen concept.

99%?? over exaggerating just a bit? I thought most of them looked really great AND very similar to the final production versions. Soem, on the other hand, SOME sucked. But it sounds like you don't think too much of 4th gens, which I cannot understand. The 4th gen is much more than just "decent".

That's the first time I've seen that picture. The only other picture is from the rear. Interesting to see the front end!

[edit]Here's the picture...Maybe that wasn't the FWD version above.
