Two things...

1. I still don't buy their argument that the steering is numb.
2. What a joke to road test the Camaro in busy NY streets... what did they plan to achieve taking a muscle car out in traffic?

What were they thinking?

The roads in NY suck as well. By far the worst bunch of streets and roads I have EVER seen, and I live in Minnesota.... Would have been better to do it in Albany if they were to test in NY

They'd better get on these steering complaints and make the car feel and turn better. It's the same thing in every single review now.

OK......did you read more than one review of the Camaro? Here are 2 examples of how magazine editors felt about the Camaro SS's handling:

(taken from Automobile Magazine's SS First Drive)

"The Aussies who developed Camaro's chassis did a superb job of tuning the strut-type front suspension and a rubber-isolated multi-link (independent) rear suspension. The Camaro SS not only handles brilliantly, it also has the best ride in the pony car class with secure grip over bumps, supple damping, and adequate body control.
Turn in is razor sharp, and balance is commendable. Drift fans need only select second gear, add boot, and apply counter-steer to impress the impressionable with their car control. Feedback from the road is lacking until the tires work up a sweat but the steering is quick, the leather-clad wheel spokes feel right, and the Pirelli P-Zero rubber bites the road like a Gila monster.
The Brembo 4-piston rigidly mounted brake calipers provide predictable pedal feel, no fade, and excellent balance during all-out stops. One of the developmental hurdles cleared at the Nürburgring and on GM's Milford Road Course was demonstrating true race-track readiness. Thanks to its stout brakes and lubricant coolers plumbed into both the engine and manual transmission, Camaro has the stamina to run flat out through a full tank of fuel."

And Motor Trend:

"Roughly 100 lb heavier than their V-6 counterparts, the V-8 Camaros turn into corners with slightly less crispness and a whiff less grip, churning up 0.90 g at the limit. The FE3 setup is as astutely tuned as the FE2, however; it's stiffer, but still pliable and planted."

That doesn't seem like they were very upset with the SS handling to me! Also interesting to note that Automobile Magazine was able to achieve a best of .94 lateral G with the SS, as opposed to most other magazines only reaching .90 G. Something they will probably work out when they each get their own test cars to flog.

Go back and read every review against the M*stang's handling. We haven't won one yet. Some reviews even prefer the V6 to the SS. It's been noted many times that the cars need more feel and responsiveness in their steering.

Here's an idea, just wait until you can drive or ride in one for yourself. I don't care what the reviews say because it is just someone's opinion and you might not agree with what they have written. Go back and read the reviews for the car you have now, you probably don't agree with everything someone said about that car. I got to take a ride in the new Camaro SS, and it rides awesome! However did not get a chance to drive it, so I want to wait and see the handling for myself.
