I say shut em down
I say shut em down
GM should shut every one of the dealerships down who are marking the 2010 up.

I was considering buying a truck from them, this just cost them 2 sales.

I can't believe they are doing this. They marked up the Grey one becouse they wanted it to sit in the showroom until they could get another one. Somebody came in and paid $7,500.00 over MSRP. Then they got a black SS and somebody came in and paid $50,000.00+ for it one hour after it hit the floor. The red one went 3 days later and now they have none. Mine is suppose to be the next one in. I have possibly made a deal with them to show it for a few days for people to look at it if they are considering ordering one. TL has a policy that they will not charge over MSRP. I ordered mine on October 30, 2008 and got it for MSRP. I think they will charge MSRP when they get easier to get. I see the add, but I know they do not have any 2010 Camaros on the lot right now.
I was looking at those Camaros and they say that they are pre-owned. Plus they are not at Terry Labontes. Looks like another Hendricks dealer is trying to sell them through TLs. Go by and ask Jeff Ballou about ordering you one. Something just dosn't look right with this. I have had a really good experience with Labontes, GM taking so long to get my car here is my only headache!
Guys, GM can't do anything about dealers who are marking up the cars. Dealers are individual businesses not owned by GM. The best thing you can do is move on to a dealer who WILL treat you right.
I agree. Let it go boys. Been in the car biz for 22 yrs. You charge what you can get up to a reasonable point. SS's will be hot all year in my opinion so I doubt too many deals will be had. If the dealer wont play then get one of the supporting dealers on this site to work with you...place your order and get on a plane and go get her....nice drive home. Went 300 miles for mine.
Why wouldn't they mark them up if people will pay it? Ahhhh Capitalism! Some dealers are doing it to keep a sample in the showroom. The mark ups will disappear soon I'm sure. I stopped by a dealer today and they had three V6's all with $10,000 markups. There was a guy there buying one too. I personally wouldn't pay it, but some will. Heck, It killed me to pay MSRP. Not use to that as I get GM Supplier discount. I just couldn't wait until they started letting people use that discount on Camaros.
Terry Labontes Chevrolet
I checked on those Camaros and it looks like they are at dealers that are closing. I went by Labontes and none of them were there. Labonts can't keep them on the lot, even when they ask $7 to $10 thousand dollars over MSRP. When they become available, they price will come down.

Bums me out that it happens but think of it this way, just like the guys who got the early last gen Mustangs for way over, Shelby's for way over, and Challengers for way over consider the losses they will have when they sell or trade in the car.
I know a of a guy that paid $15,000 over for a KR500 and now the local dealer has two on the showroom floor they would love to get sticker for and another guy I know got an early SRT8 Challenger in orange and wanted to trade it in for a stick one (he should have waited...tisk tisk) but he paid $5000 over for his. These guys lost their butts on those cars.
So far I have run across a guy that paid $5000 over to get an SS1 and another guy who paid $7000 over to get an SS2. I got the feeling from talking to both of these guys that other people ordered these cars and the dealers sold them out from under them to the guys that paid over. I know of one person that ordered a car and had his sold out from under him.

Huh?
Shut em down and arrest all private sellers who are asking top dollar for their cars. Oh wait! We live in a free country with a free market economy. For how long is a good topic for discussion.

There are plenty of good dealerships out there, some of you just may have to drive a few hours to reach em. I ordered my car May 1st, after calling 3 dealers. The first two wanted to mark up the car $4k. The third, Pat O'Brien in Willoughby Hills, OH said their selling every Camaro at MSRP. They even considered accepting my supplier discount, but when it came down to do the deal they were only going to make $380 on the car, so I had to pay MSRP. I am not upset about that one bit, b/c the car is worth every penny!
wait
When the Camaro Feeding frenzy diminishes and all the bugs are worked out of the car in two years
Go buy one!
When the C 5 vetts came out in 97 the option package was skinny eventually the options grew allowing with horse power. The C6 came with a whole new option package in 2005 by 2008 a lot more horse power 8% cheaper than the 2007. It’s a Big mistake to buy the First year Car, truck, bike. And a bigger mistake to pay juice for any car unless Its one of ten manufactured.:

currently our local dealer has a mark up of 7500. They explained to me it's for people coming in from other areas. Locals are not asked to pay the extra.
They expected to do a silent auction when the first one came in on Saturday. Now they still have that one and 2 others and emailed me another 500 off. Coupon good only until the end of June.
Guess they aren't selling quite as fast as they thought.
Because I own my own business and times are VERY tough right now. I have to wait until things improve before I buy one.
