I was impressed with the leather seats

My son and I saw the red 2SS camaro today at the Edmonton Motor Show, and I must say the leather seats were very impressive. My son just bought a G8 a few weeks ago, and the leather in the Camaro is softer than the leather in the G8, and the BMW 328i for that matter. The seats were very comfortable, and had fairly deep side bolsters.

Not all the plastics were soft touch, but overall I was impressed with the interior. You aren't going to get 400/426 horsepower, 4 wheel independent suspension, brembos brakes, 6 speed manual or automatic at this price point without having to cut some corners somewhere. I thought the radio/heater unit with the two large dials does not look awkward like I expected it to, from seeing it in pictures. The car definitely looks even better in person.

I don't know if it is too late, but if I can I will change my order from 1SS to 2SS.

the seats were one of the best i've ever sat in. i spent most of my limited time in a cloth equipped V6 one as the leather equipped SS seats were set to high and my head was hitting the roof.

The power seats seem to have the ability to go very low ... to the point I almost felt I was going to need a phone book to see over the dash! ... and to the point my head was hitting the roof inside ... so yeah, they're very adjustable . And yes, the side bolsters are very supportive and really "hug" you in the seat .

I'm curious about the quality of leather --- can anyone comment on that? I.e. is it real thick meaty leather like you'd find in an older Benz or Audi, or is it clearcoated pleather like the 4th Gens?

Absolutely. The further back you put the seat, the lower it goes.

Best regardSS,

i thought the seats in the challanger rt and v6 were too flat. no hold to the at all. unlike the srt8 which had some kind of racing seat, or so it felt like. it had more of a tight feeling around your sides where the rt and se were not very form fitting. felt like if you were to take a turn, you would fly into the passanger seat.

i know what you're saying but they are comfy and i can get into a good driving position with them.

don't forget an R/T won't be as good in the corners so i don't think you need to worry about flying around in it.......

If the car isn't good in the corners, then it'll be flopping and rolling all over the place and you WILL have to worry about flying around in it!!

The Camaro SS seats have GREAT side bolsters ... I felt REALLY hugged into the car .

As far as the Challenger seats, the V-6 seats are terrible. The SRT8 seats were great.
I think I noticed a difference between a base R/T's seats and the "J" package R/T's seats. The "J" package R/T seats were very nice. Almost as good as the SRT8 seats.
