The V-6 does sound good...for a V6. I wouldn't have a problem with driving one but if I am going to buy a Camaro, it is going to have a V8 .

From the sounds of it, the Camaro V6 will be the tuned up version of the 3.6 DI VVT (LTT)? My equinox has that same engine rated for 265hp which I must admit sounds great for a V6 and gets that 4000lbs ute off the line at a decent pace.
MT was able to run a 15.1 with the 08 equinox sports.
The 5th gen V6 camaro will see mid 14s easily.

From my little research I've done, the 3.6 DOHC VVT DI v6 was introducted in in the 04 caddy STS and an option in the CTS as the LYZ, a slightly improved version the LTT is being put in the G6s and new STS's. It has 11.3 compression ratio and as stated earlier the fuel pressure is cranked on the direct injection system, the high-pressure pump can supply up to 1,740 psi (120 bar) of pressure. And so far all the LTT engines are mated with the 4L50 6speed auto..

I think you're confused there. The motor in the Camaro is the new 3.6 Direct Injection version of the motor that was intro'd a few yrs back. This DI version is is in the new CTS and upcoming lambda crossovers. Your 3.6 is the non-DI version, hence lower power output.

Isn't that what I just said?

The motor in the Camaro looks to be the Direct Injected LTT 3.6 VVT DOHC V6 correct?

The non DI 3.6 is LY7 which is found the current CTS STS G8 Equinox and others.

The LTT is being put in the STS and CTS for 08 and the lambda for 09.

The V6 is really a good buy. However the V8 will be hard to pass up I think it boils down to the price difference for me.When you think about it this is a good position to be in because we all have a chance to get a new Camaro with no real drop off cause the V6 is seem to carry it's weight with the RS package and 300hp.
