How much have you saved for the 5th gen?

It's been a year and a half since the first concept came out, the movie has already debuted and we've had official confirmation for a while now so how much money do you have squirreled away for the new Camaro?

I started saving as soon as I saw the leaked images of the clay model, right now I've put away slightly over $7000 towards the new car, and I'll be selling my Colorado when it debuts(my brother is supposedly gonna buy it off of me).

So $7000 in savings...I'll be adding to this
$10,000 from the sale of my truck
$1000 in GM card points

I'd say that I'll have a pretty hefty down payment on a top of the line "Top Dog" Camaro

Where's everyone else stand?

I Just Sold My Z28 LT1 97 Camaro For 9 K And I'm Also Thinking About Selling My LS1 Z28 Camaro 98 Now That's It's Giving Me Problems....If I Do Sell It I'll Probably Sell It For 8-10 K And I Work So I'll Probably Be Well Over 25 K When It Comes Out.....I'll Maybe Even Buy It Cash Who Knows.....Should I Buy It Cash Or Just Make A Big Down Payment

Well, I've got about ~$1500 (points) on my GM Visa . But I'm still thousands in the hole . Guess it'll stay that way for a long, long(er) time!!

Since you asked...I sold my '79 malibu (6-71 blown BB) last year and invested the money...currently have over $17K + $1200 in GM points. I'd like to only have to finance about $10K.

I was planning on using the $1000 from the GM card and a small down payment then finance the rest for the top dog (if I'm really lucky GM will have 0% financing ...but I'm not counting on it).

I'm thinking it'll be about the same cost as the top dog GT500, right at $40,000 if you can find it without a markup...but that's just me guessing

If I want to drive my current daily driver for another year I would probably have $15k cash to put down, plus my trade....Honestly, after seeing the Transformers movie, I'm thinking about doing this.

40k? Weren't '02 SS camaro's going for about 28k? I'd imagine the 09 would only cost a little more.

On other note does anyone know if the Z28 is going to be known as the "top dog" or would it be SS?

I'm going to start saving in the Spring of 2008. That way I'll have a little over a year's worth of cash when I go order my vert.

Not saving, but I also don't have a vehicle payment either. Between my girl and I we have a 67 C-10 (195K), 00 Silverado(103K), 99 corolla(97K), and '05 Tacoma (5K, yes only 5K.) ALL paid for There WILL be a Camaro in my driveway in '09. When my girl starts her career as a vet next year (I'm an engineer) money shouldn't be a problem Guess I need to marry her soon

None. I view the Camaro as a car, not the 2nd comming.

I'm also aware of quite a few other intresting cars in the pipeline that have the potential of ending up with my name on the title.
