Now that GM said "It's a go" I remember Scott saying someting. Back when CJMatt told us all about the orange Camaro with black stripes we all called BS but when the pictures leaked Scott said " You don't think theres only two, do you?" So my question is this how many 5th gen Camaro's are out there right now? ( Sliver, Red and Orange). Please Scott tell us
Re: How many are there (Scott?0
There's the red concept and the silver concept. The red one is simply a mockup, no running parts. The silver is a fully functional vehicle, save for the gauges etc. The yellow one we've seen in leaked pics from the Transformers movie doesn't exist until the movie is out
There has been a bit of speculation that it was a donor car that has been massively converted and some people believe it to have been a GTO because of the gauge placement, etc.
Mind you, I'm only a Camaro enthusiast and that's probably the best answer there'll be for a while.

I'm going to go ahead and call BS on Chevrolet. There is no way that it is gonna take 3 damn years for them to produce this car. They knew that they were going to bring the camaro back when they made the concept
I bet this car hits the streets early 2008. I hope so anyway. 2009 is too damn long, and at that point, all the money they spent hyping up the concept would have been wasted! The hype will wear off by then, the next mustang will be in the showrooms, and the Challenger will have already been available.

You guys are forgetting that a movie car or a mock up only needs to visually do the deal. Most of the time in the development takes for testing, ergonomics, ride, etc. A lot of the comments on the "wish list" are for tighter and better cars to live with daily...a downfall of my 4th Gen for sure. I will agree that GM maybe doing something unusual for them by giving a conservative timetable. I would much rather have them give us worse case scenarios than have it delayed 6 months.

I agree about you delayed 6 month thing . . . I hate delays

Actually, scott confirmed there only being 2 "concepts". The question was if their were any pre-production models made at the time.
And the camaro can and may take 2.5 years because there currently isnt an essembly line to build it on. A plant has to be retooled for zeta before they can produce the camaro. The plant can only be retooled after their done making the cars on it now.

Sadly, it was actually a Mustang reskinned by Saleen.
Even the "rims" were fake... hubcaps with the rotors painted behind the hubcaps to make it look real.
