GM Supplier Discount

A question for those who know or possibly can make an educated guess:

Will the first year camaro be eligible for the GM Supplier discount or will we have to wait until the next year? Or will it suffer the same fate as the 'vette and not be eligible for a discount indefinitely?

unknown yet. Vettes go back and forth off the supplier list. Z06 was never available via supplier.

i would venture a guess Camaro will eventually be on the list... but not until production is ramped up at Oshawa to full tilt.

I'm eligible for it, so I'm waiting to find out too. (in the meantime accruing points on my GM Extended Family credit card)

While the Z06 has never been available for GSU I'm not aware of the Coupe or Vert ever being taken of the GSU list. At present I'll be ordering an 08 in February/ March with GSU unless the details on the 09's are out and enough to convince me to wait further.

I would be surprised if they allowed it initially. I don't think you could get them on the Solstice when it first came out.

My guess would be no earlier than later on in the first MY. If dealers are gouging, and getting it, you may have problems finding a dealer that will honor it, even if GM makes it available. The Camaros volume is your friend here, as opposed to the Solstice.

I don't know why GM isn't allowing the GMS/GSU on the Z06 yet, all dealers around here are dealing, all the supporting dealers on Corvetteforum are dealing, winters coming on, and the economy's off. Matters not to me I suppose, cause I can't afford a Z even w/ GMS, but there is a 3LT coupe in my future next year .

Sorry for bringing back the thread but I was reading the FAQ on the Discount's website and noticed this line:

How long are these offers available?
The vehicle discount is valid for eligible new and unused 2007, 2008 and 2009 GM vehicles retail-delivered through December 31, 2008.

Does that mean the whole thing is done for good Dec. 31? Or do they usually extend it? I guess I'll have to be looking at a base model 'vette if I can't get the Camaro.

It's a long running program, I don't believe you'll have anything to worry about. One thing though, dealers aren't obligated to honor it if they don't want to, it's the dealers call.

Yeah, I know of a good dealer around here who honors the deals though. Was just a little worried when I saw that it expired because I figured they didn't want it around anymore or something. I guess they may have to finalize new numbers or new rules with the Camaro coming out by then. I'm not sure why my company still has the discount anymore because we sold our division that supplied parts to GM.

I'd say it will be available once the backorder of cars is filled. However many dealers in Detroit just give GM discount to anyone. Will that even out the dealer markup who knows...

I got my C6 for supplier. There's not reason why you couldn't get a camaro for the same.

I suppose you'll just have to search for dealers willing to honor it.
