Cool To the Gentlemen that have been here since the beginning... you know who you are

I have been posting in the 5th gen section since 2001 and have met so many incredible guys that share the passion and have “kept the faith” for the new Camaro.

Tomorrow we will finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. Tonight I’ve been reflecting a bit…..the regulars for the past 5+ years in here have talked about nearly everything concerning the 5th gen.

Think about it……this was a fun place over the years….….our own little hiding place on the net to swap the latest 5th gen news!

I’ve noticed a lot of us have stop posting in here as much due to the flood of new people.

But it’s been a good run and tonight I raise my glass to say “cheers” to the fellow 5th gen enthusiast!

I guess we are going to have to start talking about the 6th gen soon (winkie club!!!)

My sentiments exactly...I've been lurking for so very long, and finally registered a long time after (makes me look like a newbie unfortunately)...but nonetheless, I have a deep sense of connection to this board...As a long time enthusiast, with no connection to the industry, this is THE site I choose to frequent for information. and at last, is seems the wait has paid off...i've "kept the faith" for so very long...just like many of us...now the bottom line is we are here at the front of a new generation...a time that one will look back upon...and we will all be glad we were here

haha its all relative noobs to respond. '05, '03, '06... So ill join, '04. I have been coming here since 2000 or 2001 but I could never register because I was on Govt computers on my lunch breaks. Then I think Ive registered about 3 names because I would forget my login after a deployment or something. It is nice to actually see us getting to the point we were all hoping for years ago.

Now maybe we can get some comments from some of the long time posters??? They must not have seen the thread topic calling them out...

Oh, but this place will only get more entertaining as the arguements heat up over what options should cost what, and what wheels should be on it, and if it should have a ciggarette lighter...and what material the seat belt attachments should be made out of

I mostly lurk on this board, but i'm on it several times a day, and it has been a great source of information for the last 5 years or so about what the new Camaro will be like.

I've been waiting along time for today when GM will announce production of the 5th gen Camaro.

I'd lost my faith in GM back in 2002 after the Camaro was gone, but I found it again in January 2006.

Here's a funny quote from back on Oct.18,2002.

Honestly I'd be suprised if many of these members will still be visiting this site by the time any real news good or bad appears.

I don't think the Camaro is dead, but it's on life support.

I'm just happy the Camaro's time has finally come again.

Re: To the Gentlemen that have been here since the beginning... you know who you are

I've been a member of this site for a few years but I hung out in the 3rd Gen Forum. I want to take this chance to thank Scott Settlemire, Jason Debler and Guy. Scott you have risked your job to keep us in the know. And as a Camaro owner and enthusist I thank you. Jason thank you for this site, giving all F-Body owners a place to come and discuss the 5th Gen, and the cars of the past. Guy, your opinions have made me laugh, and at the same time brought a sense of realism. I respect you for telling it like it is and I always enjoy reading what you have to say. It is because of you guys that I have kept my faith in GM, and now it is going to pay off. But everybody take a moment, take this in, because tomorrow for every single F-Body owner 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th Generation. Tomorrow will be the culmination of 5 years of hoping, waiting, and keeping the faith. Tomorrow Camaro will find the light at the end of the Tunnel, and once again Mustang owners will tremble in fear, and the imports will shudder. And Mopar fans will have the smack layed down on them. Because ladies and gentlemen, THE KING IS BACK! Enjoy the ride!

Re: To the Gentlemen that have been here since the beginning... you know who you are

I'd be showing up in Detroit this morning for sure, except it's ~6am, I'm at work, the drive is almost ~5hrs, so I'd be late for the party. Guess I'll just lounge around here with everyone else who can't make it and WAIT SOME MORE, because that's what we do best here on

^ ^ ^ That's a funny quote you pulled up there, cobraeater. Sitting here now, I almost can't remember the times when the re-birth of the Camaro seemed so hopeless? I tend to be a skeptic about things, and need to "see" to "believe" (that's why I did the ~5hr drive to Detroit in January to SEE the "real thing" ) but I remember when the guys started the "5th-Gen Discussion" forum ..... I thought it was being a little too optimistic at the time? Guess I was wrong?!

Well, it's been a long, bumpy road, but it looks like we may be getting somewhere finally. Here's to our friend, the Camaro!!
