Future of Camaro?

Educate me on what will happen if/when GM enters chapter 11. If they split up into good/bad GM (keep Chevy and Cadillac) will all production cease, or will Chevrolet and the Camaro keep going?

I'm missing something here.

If they split up into good/bad GM, keeping Chevy(Chevy produces the Camaro) and Cadillac, wouldn't you think they would still produce Chevy's and Cadillac's.

I'm asking would they halt production while they were in court for bankruptcy or if things would just be business as usual for the brands that survive?

You mean the plants they are idling for 9 weeks? They aren't shutting them down

Oshawa is NOT involved in the 9 week shutdown --

We intend to be in business for at least another 100 years --

We WILL get thru this.....

Business WILL rebound.....

When it does, it will be very profitable and the American Taxpayer will be paid in full plus interest.

Things to ponder:

Last 5 years saw 16-17 million units sold in the United States.

We are now selling (all manufacturers) at a rate of about 9.5 million units a year.

That figure will kill any business!

Something else to ponder:

The average age of cars in the United States? 9.9 years -- that's the oldest since WWII.......

We scrap about 12 million cars a year........

Demand will only increase.

GM and Chrysler have cut the fat (and a lot of muscle) -- to the bone.....when this DOES turn around, the stockholder will make money......

We just need to get thru the next year.................

Thanks, Scott

I just wasn't sure how things would work if bankruptcy was to happen.

I was wondering about this myself. Just as I achieve the financial ability and the Camaro is reborn GM goes belly-up. Just perfect.
I just hope they can keep up quality standards and new inovations.

Thanks Scott for clearing that up. I was just watching CNBC and they are all happy about better than expected earnings for Ford. If Chevy ceased to exist, I would have to buy a ford(OUCH). So, in my plans, I will still keep Chevy Camaro in my plans until I get out of college. Hopefully 2LT or 2SS are in works for me.

Now what happens to a stock when a company goes Ch.11? I thought it became worhtless and if the company came out of Ch.11 it would issue new stock. I'm not sure though.

I would hold off on that...I believe the stock drops to zero if bankruptcy is filed...not 100% sure though
