Drastic changes always insight an initial shock reaction. I hated the 98+ camaro when it first came out, but a new grill and SS hood later, I liked it more than my 94. I hated the new Vette and Viper, now I love em. Give it time.
Why people complain about posting negative comments is beyond me? I like the car, but I don't think it's perfect. The front end needs some work and the interior better not look like the pics or renderings because the retro crap is not good for guages. Negative comments hopefully give GM the areas where they need to improve upon this CONCEPT before it hits production.

Also I doubt half the people that cut on the link to clubsi even looked at what cars people on that board drive There are multiple F-body and Y-body owners on clubsi. If the new Camaro is going to be a success it's going to have to appeal to more than the base crowd, because honestly the current base crowd wasn't enough to support the 4th gen

Re: a Finished 5th Gen....???

If you cover the front clip it could just about be a charger.
Not sure how I feel about the idea that all these retros are the same height no matter if you measure from in front of the front wheel to the top of the hood, under the door to the top or behind the rear wheel to the top.
Cars are supposed to slope dang it

One thing that popped out at me is the front upper grill It's way to open with only one horizontal bar and those big squares. I'd like more smaller hideaway horizontal bars.

Other then that I think the fact I have seen so many chargers everywhere has prepared me for being able to accept this concept.
Although my inital reaction to the charger was why the F did DCX bastardize the charger name with this oversized town car.
Wonder had I seen the camaro first if I would have had the same reaction?

Overall not bad. In 98 when the 4th gen got restyled. A ws6 was sooo much sexier and faster then anything that compared.
Today, while the concept is still sexy and good, I think I am more on the fence between it and challenger. Time and more info will tell.

Re: a Finished 5th Gen....???

I mean no offense (as you're one of the select few here that I actually read their threads), and I see what you're saying, but I don't think the ricer crowd would like it anyway unless it looks and drives like a ricer. I also don't see the import tuner crowd moving to Mustangs and Challengers, so I think it's a moot point. And these cars are probably out of the kid/tuner price range anyway. What they may draw is that baby boomer who switched to imports but has fond memories for the original pony cars, which they grew up with. I just wish everyone would wait to see it in person before coming to conclusions. The video may not even be acurate as far as the production model goes. Since production is a few years off, if a retro interior is not wanted, now is the time for the public to speak up about it. A lot of people have personal preferences are are always going to hate anything from the "other" guys, so take everything with a grain of salt. Don't get upset if clubsi hates a Camaro, as I'm sure there aren't too many handa fans here!
AMEN to that.

I like the car in the video very much. Of course I will wait to see it in person before really making solid opinions about it - - but one thing that jumps out at me is that the rear roofline is faster than I thought before, and I'm glad about that... plus the lines are sharper, and I'm diggin that too

For some reason the exterior design of this Camaro concept just looks fantastic in orange.

Re: a Finished 5th Gen....???

I'm not that impressed, it's alright. I expected way more. It needs work, many have mentioned the flaws and weird things about it already so I guess I won't as much. Not much changed from the pictures we saw already.

I see some Third Gen in it but it's mostly a 1st Gen. Retro nonsense again here. Spoiler is too little and that interior needs a redesign. Also, take away that grill and hood slit, now LOL.

Re: a Finished 5th Gen....???

Lets not forget that:

A) The Challenger is NOT A PRODUCTION CAR. IT IS A CONCEPT.

B) THIS Camaro is NOT A PRODUCTION CAR. IT IS A CONCEPT.

There very well may be changes to either before they see production...

I want to see under the hood and an interior before I make judgement. I like bits, I hate others. But again, this is just a Concept Car. I'll hold any final judgement till I sit in one on a dealership lot.

Re: a Finished 5th Gen....???

As a concept car and only a picture at this point, Ill hold off an opinion till monday. But as of right now, Im already a fan. Two things I like right away just looking at the body alone:

-Aggresive and unique styling so it will most definitly stand out in a crowd which is a major plus in this segment

-The body looks like it will actually be very aftermarket friendly to the folks that like body kits, spoilers and such. Aka, good looking ground effect kits could enhance the look of this car instead of giving a tacked on look (which just about every one of them did with the 4th gen IMO)

The rest can wait till the unveiling

Re: a Finished 5th Gen....???

Glad to see the concept is out. But I do not like it. The belt line is way too high. I do not like the pointed front end either. The hood scoop looks out of place, and boy do I hope the rear looks different than in the leaked pics. The car looks wierd, and just does not look right.
