Factory Orders
Just a question for those of you that have the inside track (dealers, etc.)
I won't be in the market until about mid summer next year. How long are dealers normally able to take orders for a particular set of options and what not? I don't want to have to play the "this is what we have on the lot, and I'm not sure if we can find that car" game.

How long will the build year be? I ordered a 96 Z28 in April of 1996 and was cut-off due to the end on model year production...not sure how much the "dealer allocation" part played in that though as 95% of production went south of the border, LOL

The market will probably remain centered in the south, in large part due to the weather and the type of car it is.
Secondly, bigger dealers tend to have bigger allocations, and Texes (primarily because of Chevy trucks) has some pretty big dealers.
Another good state would probably be North Carolina.
Top state?
Probably Michigan. Everybody and his freaking brother works for GM around here...

I don't think he's saying it really will be...

Yep you will be
GM will flood the market if they can sell these cars.
I would not order one because you may never see it with the dealer allocations.
I will buy my camaro ss when I see it on the dealers lots.
And I am sure the way the economy is we will be able to get it at a steallllllll

I put Michigan in the top 3 states for a number of reasons one
1. Because I live in Michigan
2. Michigan is one of the top states to drive domestic cars.
3. GM has serveral suppliers here in the state. Which means tons of discounts to the suppliers and the GM employees.
Note… data use in percentages not total count

Can't understand why you would order a Camaro SS???
There will only be a few options, but I can be wrong.
I am sure when the Camaro SS comes out,if you want to look a atad.
I am sure you can find the color and options you want without ordering one and waiting....
Unless you enjoy waiting,go knock yourself outttttttt.jt
